Dayton Public Schools Foundation

Dayton Public Schools Foundation The purpose of Dayton Public Schools Foundation is to inspire community contributions of time and treasures to provide a richer and more complete learning.

NEED FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT
DPS has the highest enrollment in Montgomery County. Due to strains on our economy, corporate relocation, population, and housing loss, the district’s tax revenue has become significantly decreased. These factors compound the negative impact an urban district. While DPS has seen improvements in a variety of areas, significant challenges remain. Consider the following:

14,377 students were enrolled

• 100% qualified for free meals

• 40% did not pass third grade

• 30% did not graduate high school

OUR MISSION
To advance success for DPS students through community engagement and philanthropy. OUR VISION
Every DPS student will be prepared for success in life and work as contributing citizens to our community, country, and global society. By providing supplemental resources beyond that which is available to the District, the Dayton Public Schools Foundation seeks to elevate our students through increased community interaction and contributions. The DPS Foundation will serve as the focal point of support to by providing grants, scholarships, and an array of other initiatives to help ensure academic and life success.
