Thursday MAY 21, 2026 20th Anniversary Specialty Show. You don't want to miss this. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary Specialty Show with a beautiful new location. The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park. 30753 La Pata Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. In conjunction with the Mission Circuit, enter the Specialty Show followed by 4 Sponsored Shows. 5 incredible days of showing . Our show chair is Ms. Marji McCormick. Yesterday at our general membership meeting, we celebrated the achievements of our members and their Cavaliers during 2025. Congratulations to all on a great year!

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of our dear friend and devoted club member, Kathy Tegg. In her final days, Kathy was comforted by the presence of her family and close friends.

Kathy was a true ambassador for our Cavaliers and will always be remembered for the warmth, kindness, and love she shared with everyone in her world. She will be deeply missed.

Message from the President

I’d like to introduce myself and the newly elected board of the Bay Area
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (BACKCSC). My name is Susan
Gonyo, and I’m honored to serve as your new President. Joining me on the
board are:

▪️Molly Hughes, Secretary
▪️Allyson Gonyo, Corresponding Secretary
▪️Kevin Ellingson, Treasurer
▪️Mary McHenry & Dave Moody, Directors

We’re all looking forward to serving our club and supporting our wonderful
Cavalier community.

We have many ideas for the upcoming programs and would love to hear what
interests you as well. This year, we’re starting a “Sunshine Committee” to help
us recognize and support our members during the important moments in their
lives.

Our next event is our Holiday Party on December 14 at Zio Fraedos. I hope to
see you there!

In January, we will hold our Awards Presentation—an opportunity to celebrate
our members’ achievements and share in some celebration cake! Please join
us in honoring our members’ accomplishments!

We’ll be sending out more information about upcoming meetings and events
after our board holds its initial planning meeting on December 21. In the
meantime, I hope you enjoy this special holiday season. I look forward to
connecting with all of you and continuing to strengthen our BACKCSC
community.
