A few snapshots from another great Tuesday with Danville San Ramon Rotary! 💙💛

From fellowship and a little Marble Pull fun to learning more about what’s happening right here in our community – there’s always something going on at Rotary.

👟 We heard from Francis David from SRVEF about the 43rd Annual Run for Education coming up October 11 and how our members can get involved and volunteer.

🤖 Our featured speaker, former San Ramon Police Chief Denton Carlson, shared a fascinating look at how AI is being used in public safety to help manage and analyze digital evidence.

And a big thank you to our Greeter, Colette Lay, for kicking off our meeting!

Great people, interesting conversations and lots of opportunities to make a difference. That’s what Tuesdays at Danville San Ramon Rotary are all about. 💙💛

Another great day of service and teamwork! 🌱🔨

Our Danville San Ramon Rotary members were back at it for Build Day #2 of our Bounty Garden project. This weekend, we finished making all of the pieces we’ll use to construct five planter bed enclosures that will help support The Bounty Garden and the incredible work they do providing fresh produce to local families.

A big thank you to Allen Mueller, Hermann Welm, Terry Church, Jose Barron, Del Chandler, Dennis Harvey, Scott Gerbert, Erik Yewell and Lynnette Gerbert for lending a hand!

Special thanks to Hermann for doing some extra prep work at home before our build day – and to Lynnette and Scott for joining us from the Dougherty Valley/San Ramon Rotary Club. We love seeing Rotarians come together across clubs to make an impact! 💙💛

Next up: assembling the planter bed enclosures and getting them ready for installation at The Bounty Garden. Stay tuned!

🎥 Danville San Ramon Rotary Interact Member Spotlight: Ayaan Krishnan

Meet Ayaan Krishnan, a senior at California High School, Fundraising Coordinator for Cal High Interact, and a recent participant in Rotary’s Camp Venture.

In this episode, Ayaan shares how he went from simply giving Interact a try to becoming much more involved, what inspired him to step into leadership, and what he took away from his Camp Venture experience.

And when I asked him what he’d say to someone who claims they’re “too busy” to volunteer... he had a pretty clear answer. 👀

Another great Tuesday with Danville San Ramon Rotary! 💙💛

This week was all about connection, community and welcoming new faces.

We were excited to officially welcome Peter and Brenda Thorson as new members of our club! We’re so happy to have you both as part of our Rotary family.

We also welcomed Debbie Toth, CEO of Choice in Aging, as our featured speaker. Debbie shared more about the important work they are doing to support older adults and people with disabilities - helping people live with greater dignity, independence and connection.

Of course, there was plenty of fellowship, club updates, our Marble Pull and another great opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians.

A Saturday morning, a pile of lumber and a group of Rotarians ready to get to work! 🌱🔨

This past Saturday, 11 Danville San Ramon Rotary Club members and one family member came together for the first build day of our Bounty Garden Project.

The Bounty Garden grows fresh, organic produce for Contra Costa County food banks and has donated more than 30,000 pounds of vegetables to local families experiencing food insecurity.

Our goal? Build five new planting bed enclosures to support their continued growth.

During Build Day #1, our volunteers cut and prepared more than 200 pieces of lumber, completing about one-third of Phase 1. We’ll be back at it August 22 for Build Day #2!

Thank you to Terry Church, David Meyer, Jessie Cho and daughter Jocelyn, Dany Gregory, Hermann Welm, Stephen McKae, Mark Heavey, Pooja Ahuja, Roberto Fuenzeleda, Allen Mueller and Erik Yewell for rolling up their sleeves and lending a hand!
