The Easter Lily pin is worn to commemorate all those who gave their lives for Irish freedom. It was first created by Cumann na mBan in 1926 to raise funds for the Irish Republican Prisoners’ Dependants Fund.

On the 100th anniversary of the Easter Lily as a symbol of Irish freedom, please join us at Holy Cross for the annual Easter Commemoration. Assemble at the main gate at 11:00am.

This year’s featured speaker is Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly.

Last Sunday, and on every Palm Sunday, the United Irish Societies commemorated the life of Father Peter Yorke. The Pearse & Connolly are proud to lead the procession to the grave of Fr. Yorke, a champion of the Irish community and the labor movement.

Capping off St. Patrick’s week, the band enjoyed a trip to the town of Murphys for their Irish Day parade and festival. That evening, we were warmly welcomed at the home of two longtime band supporters for dinner and a band talent show. Ciaran and Louise are such generous and gracious hosts, this has become the favorite annual event for many band members. 💚💚💚

Every March 17th, we bring the band around town and entertain folks in some of our favorite spots. For a Tuesday, this was a particularly good night out! ☘️🍺🎶☘️

A great day out at the parade! Several of our youngest members, and a few adults, were marching in their first St. Patrick’s Day parade, and we’re so proud of how well the rookies did. And of course, the veteran marchers always put on a good show! 💚💚💚

The Pearse & Connolly helped kick off the St. Patrick’s season at two local senior living facilities this weekend. These folks are always some of our most appreciative audiences. And these were debut performances for some of our new young members. These little ones are the future of the band, and we’re so proud of them all!
