The Danville Art League is a community driven organization that provides opportunities for members to promote their work in the local area.

Our mission is to continue to inspire local artist to create, show and sell their work! The Danville Art League's annual season (Sept.-May), consists of meetings every-other-month when the general membership gets together for socializing and enjoying live demonstrations from visiting regional artists. Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of Sept, Nov., Jan., Mar., May. Meetings are open to guests to learn about the League. The Danville Art League is the premier fine-arts organization in Southside Virginia, providing a place to learn and exhibit artistic works, of sculpture, photography and painting.

14th Annual National Juried Exhibit - October 8-November 14, 2026

Wednesday, July 14 ... Early Bird Deadline ... it is fast approaching!

Seems like only yesterday there was plenty of time to prepare, and now
the first deadline is under a month away!

Important dates to keep in mind:
Jul 14 Early Bird deadline
Aug 11 Final deadline
Sep 10 Notification to artists
Oct 2/3 2/3, noon-3 hand deliver art
Shipped art must be received by Oct 3
Oct 23 Awards reception
Nov 14 Last day of exhibit
Nov 20/21 In-person art pick-up
Shipped art goes out by Nov 24

You may enter online, email, or using the printed entry form. You will save
on the entry fee by entering before the early bird deadline is over and online.

Please refer to the attached Call for Artists for all eligibility and image file requirements.

There is no theme for this exhibit and it is open to all disciplines. If you have any questions, please reply to this email.

2nd Honorable Mention
In the 2026 Winter Exhibition,
At the
Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History was awarded to
Nancy Diciolla for her photo:
"GATE"

JUDGE COMMENTS:

Nancy’s photograph reaches far beyond the documentation of simply snow on a gate. The photograph reaches beyond the suggested peaceful moment of nature. Nancy’s photograph plays with a delightful composition that moves the viewer throughout the photograph by following the myriad of thin, thick, horizontal, and diagonal lines. The lone vertical line in the background (birdhouse? Utility pole?) pulls the viewer into the background to engage with the cool blue/grey field of color, and then redirects the eye back into the gate. This piece surpasses the typical clichéd snowy scene and creates a beautiful moment that balances nature and art.
