Meet Jazelle Hairston, the talented 12-year-old artist behind Purpose Over Labels: Through the Eyes of ADHD.

Jazelle used her creativity to remind us that a diagnosis should never hide someone’s talent, voice, imagination, or purpose.

Back-to-school season brings new classrooms, new routines, and new expectations. For a differently abled child, it can also bring unfamiliar sounds, new faces, sensory overload, and the pressure to fit in.

Before we label a child “difficult,” let’s ask: What are they trying to communicate? What support would help them feel safe enough to learn?

This school year, let’s choose patience over punishment, curiosity over assumptions, and inclusion every single time.

Parents, educators, and caregivers: share one support that helps your child or student feel ready for school.

Hello, August. We are entering this month with one goal: turn awareness into action.

Awareness says, “I know differently abled individuals exist.” Action says, “I will help remove barriers, challenge stereotypes, support families, make room, and speak up when someone is excluded.”

This month, Who Set The Standards will keep sharing education, caregiver encouragement, youth voices, community questions, and ways to wear and support The Inclusion Movement.

Follow along, invite a friend to our page, and tell us what inclusion in action means to you.

Finding help should not feel like a full-time job.

Yet many families spend hours searching for therapy, respite care, transportation, inclusive recreation, school support, medical specialists, financial assistance, and trustworthy local information.

Who Set The Standards is working to make resources easier for families to find and understand. Your experience can help us focus on what is needed most.

What is one resource you wish had been easier to find? Add it below or send us a private message.

Your child is not a problem to solve.

They are a whole person to understand, support, teach, protect, challenge, celebrate, and love. Their diagnosis may help explain certain needs, but it does not erase their personality, gifts, preferences, humor, potential, or purpose.

Families should never be made to feel as though their child’s presence is an inconvenience or their need for access is asking too much.

Save this reminder for a difficult day, and share it with someone who needs to see the child before the challenge.

Your voice can travel—even before you say a word.

When you wear Who Set The Standards merchandise, you carry a message into grocery stores, schools, workplaces, churches, family gatherings, and community events: differently abled individuals deserve access, respect, opportunity, and belonging.

That is why our merchandise matters. It helps keep the conversation visible long after an event or social media post ends.

Caregivers, how are YOU doing—really?

So much of your time is spent checking medications, appointments, school plans, behaviors, sleep, meals, safety, transportation, and everyone else’s needs. It can become easy for people to ask about the person you care for without ever asking about you.

Today, this space is for you. You are allowed to be grateful and tired. Strong and overwhelmed. Hopeful and in need of support—all at the same time.

Check in using one word below. No explanation is required. We simply want you to know you are seen.

What happens when you give a young visionary the platform to tell her own story? You get a movement. 🚀✨

At Who Set The Standards, we don’t just talk about inclusion—we live it. We provided Jazelle Hairston with the opportunity to create a signature graphic for our organization, giving her total creative freedom to express her truth.
Because Jazelle lives with ADHD, she chose to lean directly into her diagnosis. She didn’t want to hide it; she wanted to celebrate the "Authentic ADHD" experience—the energy, the creativity, and the beautiful chaos that makes her who she is. 🎨💜

But a diagnosis is just one chapter of her story. When she’s not in the studio, Jazelle is a dominant force on the basketball court and a leader on the flag football field. 🏀🏈
She is the living definition of Purpose Over Labels. She doesn’t let ADHD define her; she uses it as fuel to excel in every arena of her life. 🌪️💪

Jazelle did the work. She took the opportunity and turned it into art. Now, it’s your turn to support the mission.
