Please pray for the people of Sudan. Islamist elements within the military are currently fighting each other for control of the national government. This was, sadly, a predictable occurrence since the major sticking point in Sudan's transitional government has been the military's refusal to agree to a civilian-led system that they do not control.

At least 25 people were killed and hundreds of others were injured in a coup in Sudan. The United States ambassador to Sudan tweeted that he and his staff had to take shelter inside the embassy. NBC News’ Aaron Gilchrist reports.
