Please join us in welcoming Michelle to Culpeper Literacy as our new Administrator and Evening Tutor! 🎉

Michelle's connection to Culpeper Literacy goes back years. As a child, she watched her mother attend GED and English classes through our organization and saw firsthand how education can open doors and change lives. Last summer, she returned to Culpeper and began volunteering as a Spanish tutor, where she discovered that learning truly goes both ways.

Michelle is passionate about language, education, and creating opportunities for others. In addition to her work with Culpeper Literacy, she has mentored students pursuing higher education and is committed to helping people achieve their goals.

As Michelle says, "I believe in regifting knowledge and the power of language in accessing opportunity."

We're excited to have her on the team and look forward to the impact she'll make in our community. Welcome, Michelle! 💙📚

Dolly Parton’s legacy will live on in so many ways, including through her incredible commitment to childhood literacy.

For years Culpeper Literacy has been proud to spread awareness Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and its mission to put books into the hands of children in our community from the very beginning.

We’re grateful to play a small part in continuing the work she cared so deeply about. ❤️

More than 1,600 local preschoolers receive free books in the mail every month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. What about your kids? ⤵️ Find a link to the story in the comments.

Thank you, Culpeper Chamber of Commerce , for including the Culpeper Literacy in this year's Lead Culpeper Local Government & Non-Profit Day.

Lead Culpeper participants spent the day learning about the organizations, public services, and community leaders who help keep Culpeper running and thriving. From exploring local infrastructure and government offices to hearing from non-profit leaders, the day offered a behind-the-scenes look at the many ways people work together to serve our community.

We were honored to join the Non-Profit Leaders Panel and share the mission of the Culpeper Literacy Council. It was a privilege to discuss how literacy, education, and lifelong learning create opportunities for individuals and strengthen our community as a whole.

Thank you to the Chamber for investing in future leaders and to everyone who makes Culpeper such a special place to call home.

Love teaching? Miss the classroom? Culpeper Literacy is looking for volunteer teachers for our fall session beginning September 28!

Whether you’re a former educator, current teacher, or simply someone who enjoys helping others learn, we’d love to have you. Teaching experience is welcomed, but not required. We’ll provide the support and resources you need to make a difference.

Just 90 minutes of your time each week can help an adult learner build confidence, strengthen their English skills, and open doors to new opportunities.

Interested in volunteering? Reach out to us via email at [email protected] or call 540-825-5804.

Meet Peggy, one of our incredible volunteer tutors. Like so many of our volunteers, she’s discovered that teaching is about so much more than helping someone learn English. It’s about building confidence, creating connections, and opening doors to new opportunities.

As our fall classes begin, we’re looking for caring and eager volunteers to join our team. No teaching experience is required. Just a willingness to encourage, support, and make a difference in someone’s life.

Ready to be part of something meaningful? We’d love to have you.

Strong communities are built through strong partnerships. Culpeper Literacy was proud to join the Free Clinic of Culpeper and fellow community organizations in sharing how we work together to support the health, education, and well-being of Culpeper residents. Thank you to Congressman Eugene Vindman for taking the time to learn about the impact these collaborations have on our community.

A summer well spent! We’re so grateful for Mary and everything she brought to the Culpeper Literacy this summer through the Path Foundation internship program. From leading our Digital Literacy class to building meaningful connections with our learners, her enthusiasm, creativity, and heart made a lasting impact on our community.

Thank you, Mary, for sharing your time and talents with us. And thank you to the PATH Foundation for investing in opportunities that strengthen organizations like ours while empowering the next generation of leaders. We couldn’t have asked for a better summer!
