Tonight we celebrated Piedmont Area Soap Box Derby's 2026 Local Champions. Brooklyn (Stock), Hank (Super Stock), and Brayden (Masters) were presented with their jackets on stage to celebrate their win. Unfortunately, Hunter (Super Kids) was unable to attend. Thank you Culpeper community for your support of our racers and for cheering them on with us!

We always have such a great time at Culpeper Renaissance Inc.'s August 3rd Thursday Concert! We will be displaying our 1/2 car if you would like to learn more about Soap Box Derby racing AND presenting our June 2026 Local Champs with their jackets! Hope to see you there!

Come out and cheer them on as we recognize this year’s local champions and celebrate the amazing work the Piedmont Area Soap Box Derby does to build confidence, character, and community through the sport of soap box racing. 🏎️💨

Savannah, Brooklyn, Aiden, Kyle, and Sheila had a great time last Saturday at Culpeper County Public Schools' Back to School Bash! It is always fun introducing folks to Soap Box Derby racing! If you know a child aged 7 to 20 interested in racing, please reach out. We have loaner cars and we're going to have 2 Rally Race Weekends this fall. See you at Paul Bates Raceway!

Extremely proud of our racers! Hank, Jaxson, Savannah, Penny, and Johnathan all raced well! Brooklyn and Brayden made Top 9 and rode to the top of the hill to "We Are the Champions". Brayden placed 6th in Local Masters and Brooklyn placed 4th in Local Stock. Congrats, racers! We'll see everyone back at Paul Bates Raceway!

Today is the 88th FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship! Tune in to YouTube to cheer on PASBD's Local Champs (Stock - Brooklyn Huggins, Super Stock - Hank Plunkert, and Masters - Brayden Johnson) and Rally Champs (Super Stock - Jaxson Norrod, and Masters - Penny Bryant, Savannah Huggins, and Johnathan Johnson). These racers have spent the week participating in Challenge races, working on their cars, making new friends, and creating memories with their families and friends!
