On September 11, 2001, our nation changed forever.

For many of our children, 9/11 is something they have only read about in a history book. They weren't there to see the smoke, hear the sirens, or watch the brave men and women who ran toward danger while others were running away.

That is why we must teach them. 🇺🇸

We have worked hard to bring our Community Heroes together for the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, and we invite you to be part of this special day.

This is an opportunity for the next generation to learn more about September 11, 2001, remember those who lost their lives, and hear from the brave men and women who answered the call to serve in the days and years that followed.

Let’s teach our children about courage, sacrifice, service, and the true meaning of being a community hero.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Friendly! We encourage you to bring your children!

Come meet our firefighters, law enforcement officers, rescue personnel, military members, and other community heroes. 🇺🇸

Help Us Surprise Our Local Veterans! 🇺🇸

Honor Flight–Top of Virginia is coming to Culpeper for the first time on September 12th, and we need your help to make the day extra special for our Vietnam Era and older Veterans!

During the bus ride home from their day of honor in Washington, D.C., each Veteran receives a surprise package of "Mail Call"—a heartwarming tradition honoring the letters from home they always looked forward to while serving.

We are gathering thank-you cards, handwritten letters, and children's drawings to make sure every Veteran gets a full envelope of gratitude.

Want to help?
Whether you're an individual, family, scout troop, youth group, or local organization, your notes mean the world to these heroes!

📬 Where to Mail Cards & Letters by September 1st:
HFTOV
PO Box 163
Middletown, VA 22645
Attn: Any Vet Mail Call

🇺🇸Also, we would LOVE to have you join us at the American Legion on September 12th
When Honor Flight returns to the American Legion at approximately 6:15pm, we want to surprise our Veterans with the "welcome home" that they never received over 50 years ago. Please spread the word - we ask for as many people as possible to line up in the parking lot of the American Legion to cheer for our Veterans as they return home. The public should arrive no later than 6:00pm, as we may return a few minutes early or late depending on traffic. We have hand-held flags to distribute. Welcome Home signs are encouraged.🇺🇸

What is Honor Flight?
Honor Flight provides a completely FREE, one-day bus trip to Washington, D.C. for our Veterans. Participants visit the WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Memorials, and receive special front-row access to the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery (all meals included).
