First and foremost, Operation First Response is a family. We are dedicated to serving our wounded Service Members, Disabled Veterans, First Responders and Gold Star families. We are a family made up of mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, and friends. We are a family of Veterans of far too many conflicts and wars. We are a family of ordinary people from across the nation. We belie
ve it is our duty and our responsibility to give back to those who have sacrificed so much to keep us free. Operation First Response is a direct service charity. As such, we give back over 95% of the funds we raise directly to America’s Finest who need our assistance. As our Heroes begin their transition into the civilian community it can be a difficult and lengthy journey. Also keep in mind that our Disabled Heroes are often on a fixed income and when a vehicle repair, appliance replacement or any unexpected cost arises this often sends the family into financial distress. This reality makes it even more important for organizations like Operation First Response to continue our efforts to help our Nation’s wounded and seriously-ill Heroes. Every day across our great country, our Military and our First Responders risk their personal safety to serve each and every one of us. As America’s Finest they stand ready at a moment’s notice to run in where most run out. When we see the uniforms that they proudly wear, we are reminded of the sacrifices they make to be ready for any emergency or conflict that threatens the safety of our communities or our country. We are truly grateful for their selfless service. We are grateful for their willingness to serve at great peril and with little thanks for the sacrifices they make each day. When injury, illness or the loss of a Hero occurs, we must be there for them and their families. We must never, for one moment, forget that their whole family serves. Without the support of their families, it would make the service of America’s Finest an even more difficult task. OFR travels with our Heroes and their families throughout their journey until they are stable and no longer need our help. Due to the severity of injuries, some of our Heroes may need our help for years to come and we are here to provide that support. As a grateful nation where there is abounding Freedom, we must never forget the price that was paid for that Freedom. We will not be able to support these families in crisis without your support now!
