What a year we’ve had!! Come out to DiFabio’s Market and Tap on Saturday April 11th from 6-10 for the annual Spring Fling!

We’ll be bringing back DJ Derrick from Xzotic Enterprises Inc. There’ll be a silent auction and raffle too.

The cost is $40 per person. Bob Fyfe accepts check, cash and Venmo (-Fyfe-9). The per person cost includes buffet dinner, dessert, regular Fun Run awards (for those who participated in 10 or more fun runs in 2025), bonus top 10 Fun Run awards (for the top 10 people with most attendances) and a cash bar.

Approximately 70 runners and walkers participated in the Delco RRC 35th annual Volkswanderung on 11/27/2025 (Thanksgiving morning!) at Ridley Creek State Park!

Over $1,000 was raised and will be donated to two local food banks.

Commemorative embroidered baseball style caps were given to all participants.

The 4.3 mile prediction run saw 47 runners compete for the 26 donated pies that were awarded to the best predictors. Results shown below.

The unsung heroes of the - the hundreds of volunteers involved!! DelcoRRC was honored to take part in this historic event on 9/28/2025! We’d like to thank each and every one of them, and especially the 25 course marshals from our club covering approximately miles 4-6 along the race route!! Since we gathered all these volunteers, provided a promotional table for us next to the finish line! Thanks Liliya Yatsunyk (and Anton), Mike Walsh and Joe Freiberg for heading down to Subaru Park ahead of our marshal crew and setting up the table!!

What a weekend we had! Starting on Saturday with the Delaware County Cross Country championships! Delco RRC directed another successful Delaware County High School Cross-Country meet on Saturday September 27th at Rose Tree Park. More than 600 runners from 15 county high schools competed in the five races. And this year marked the debut of the middle school participation!

Episcopal Academy girls won their first ever county championship with 64 points, defeating runner up Agnes Irwin by 9 points. Episcopal junior
Kendra Williamson won the individual title for a second straight year in a time of 18:37 over the hilly 5K course. Eric Mundy has been coaching the EA girls team for several seasons.

In the boys varsity race, Haverford won the team title with 59 points defeating 2nd place Penncrest by 8 points.

Haverford senior Teddy Foster was boys county champion in a close finish in 16:26. The top seven runners all finished within 34 seconds of Foster.

For the first time at the meet this year, a middle school race for boys and girls was added, as 63 boys and girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades ran a shorter 3K course. Episcopal Academy girls swept the other teams taking 1st through 5th places, as 6th graders Hannah and Ava Mundy took 4th and 5th for EA. Haverford boys won the boys middle school team competition.

Meet director Byron Mundy would like to thank everyone who helped out with the meet including Jen Powers, John Greenstine, Andy Keller, Mike Tiedeman, Larry Filtz, Mary Beth Mundy, Kristine Shaughnessy, Ben Serson, Bob Fyfe, Bridget Mundy Velardi, Lizz Giordano, Dave Webb, Nick Sacchetti, and Garnet Valley girls coach Terry Lillicrap. Also a special thank you to the Delaware County Parks Dept. for providing 12 officers to assist with traffic control and course marshaling.

Be a course marshal and cheer on runners as they make their way from Rose Tree Park to Subaru Park! Report to your assigned post by 7:30, cheer on the runners and then by 9:30 it’s off to the post-race party 🎉🍻 at Subaru Park — complete with FREE food & beer!

The Race for the Watershed 5k at Newlin Grist Mill (and Duck Derby!!) took place 6/14/2025. DelcoRRC had a table set up to talk about running and our club! It was a fun day with tables, raffles, kids activities. Thanks Valerie, Cole, Brenda and Jen for working the table and to Byron and Terry for donating DelcRRC swag. And to John G, the keeper of the awesome club banner! We are ready to do it again! Also fun to find 2 DelcoRRC runners in the (hilly!!) trail race! Go Sally (28:14) and Meg (35:04), first and third place age group winners!!

Calling all members and friends with children under age 18!!  DelcoRRC and SRA are hosting the annual Youth Developmental Track meet on Saturday June 7th!! No experience is necessary, the kids can just come out and try the track and field events (and win medals and ribbons!!).

Details:

All children 18 and under are welcome. The races will begin at approximately 9 AM. The track meet will have no entry fee. Walk up registrations only!  Events at the track meet include a 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1600 meter runs, a 4x100 meter relay, a 4 x 400 meter relay, softball throw and long jump.
Volunteers will be needed to handle registration, the start/finish lines, timers, and measuring the long jump and softball throw. The track meet is held at the Strath Haven Middle School track from 8:00 AM to approximately 1PM, with the first event for kids at 9:15. There is also an open mile at 9:00 for ALL ages (for the parents too!) so get a good workout and then hang around to volunteer.

The 26th annual Fireside on 2/22/2025 at Wissahickon HS brought out many runners, family and friends. This is a super speedy competitive race (winning time was 25:34), and is the kick-off event of the 2025 MidAtlantic USATF Grand Prix. So multitudes of congrats for all our age group winners!!!
