Blossom!
Look at this gorgeous girl! Her coat is just amazing. Left abandoned and sick, Blossom is fully recovered and excited to get on with her life. She is a very sweet and very smart girl who learns quickly. A little fresh out of the gate zoomies and some ball, and Blossom is quickly played out and ready for cuddling and belly rubs. She has some bull in a china shop moments but is learning to be more self aware. Only about two years old, this girl is a gem - goofy, lovable, quick to bond, and eager to please. She should do well with older kids and a male dog partner is possible. No cats please. Blossom is ready to interview prospective adopters now. Hint: the best answer to most of her questions is โ€œtreatsโ€. Call us to meet her! 401-568-9480

THURSDAY'S VIP....BLUEโค

Velvety Blue is a big lug of a sweetheart!

Blue is 4 years old. He is proud to show his repertoire of cued behaviors; sit, paw, gimme ten.

The thing is, when Blue here exits his kennel run, he has a less than ideal way of greeting folks. His BIG enthusiastic hellloooo needs help. Like SOS this is not ok, buddy. We want to meet you but not that much of you! But that's ok, Blue comes with a Handsome Dan's Rescue Take My Lead grant for up to $500 in FREE private training once adopted. And we will also be working with him to quell his... well... find a better way for him to take a chill pill prior to saying hello. As a trainer, I also believe that much of this has a good chance of subsiding once he is out of the shelter and more relaxed in a home. I'm really not worried.

Sooooo, during his assessment, after he ran about three laps of the play yard he returned to me, flopped down, and made his belly available for rubs!

Blue is a great guy. He has been bumped around a bit, nothing horrible, just not quite settled. He is hoping that his next home is his forever home.'

Blue lived with a dog in the past. He would not be a good dog to try to integrate with a cat.

When Animal Allies RI read about this terrible situation, we contacted Rhode Island Pet Network to see how we could help. We immediately called VEG in Warwick to donate $500. VEG was literally waiting to get payment to begin his care. This fits right within our mission, and we are happy to report that Duke is recovering at home with his dad.

Are you looking for a new happy-go-lucky boy who loves you already? Shep is all about his humans. He loves nothing more than to cuddle right up to you and lean into your body for pets and rubs. He's a youngster at about 11 months of age and is as gentle as they come! He would be open to meeting your resident dog if you have one, and he's never met a stranger he hasn't fallen for!!!

Shep is at the Providence Animal Control Center and they are currently have a 'Pay What We Weigh' adoption promotion until the 18th.

Cash enjoyed this hot day searching for just the right toy from the bin, romping in the covered, shady play area, then back to his kennel to feel the nice cool floor on his belly!!! This young man is all about being silly, and he'll make you laugh with his silly antics.

Observed throughout June, ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—™๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ต raises awareness about the critical need for temporary foster homes. Fostering provides animals a safe space to decompress, socialize, and heal while freeing up kennel space at local shelters.

Many shelters are overflowing with pets and would welcome fosters to help them out. Why not contact your local shelter and inquire?
