A very neat to efforts to rebuild the Colossus of Rhodes! This project was an inter-chapter effort between our 3 Rhode Island AHEPA chapters and gained the support of Senator Claiborne Pell. Brother Spiro C. Samaras was a key figure in this effort, and special thanks to his family for these photos.

As our June 13 Centennial Gala approaches, we look back to the committee that met weekly in preparation for the 1939 National Convention held right here in Providence. Quite the dapper crew!

Decades later, the spirit of service, brotherhood, and dedication to our community continues strong in AHEPA Chapter 106 “Sophocles”. Our Centennial Gala Committee is proud to announce that the June 13 Gala is officially SOLD OUT — and we cannot wait to celebrate this historic milestone together.

And finally, happy Name Day to all celebrating today!

Another AHEPA Sunday in the books.

Today, we were proud to present scholarships to Constantine Coclin, Gianna Degaitas, Peter Grammas, George Grammas, and Alex Vanikiotis. We congratulate each of them and wish them continued success in their studies and future endeavors.

Thank you to Vice President Alexi Nikolaidis, Treasurer John Vanikiotis, Nick Badway, Haralambos Dafoulas, and Arthur Pappas for helping prepare and serve our coffee hour following the Divine Liturgy. We are also grateful to Bobby, John, and George Moragemos for generously sponsoring the meal.

It was especially meaningful to remember our departed brothers in prayer during today’s liturgy as we continue the longstanding tradition of faith, fellowship, and service that defines our chapter

to one of our proudest efforts - the support of Greece in the wake of the Second World War. Our chapter, along with the Greek community at large helped to raise substantial funds for the relief efforts. Brother George Demopulos delivered the funds symbolically to Bob Hope!
