☀️📚 Summer Learning Starts with Fun! 🌈🍉

School may be out, but learning doesn’t have to stop! Summer is a wonderful time for our students to relax, explore, play, and keep those amazing minds growing! 🩵

A few simple ways to keep learning going this summer:

☀️ Read every day (even 15–20 minutes makes a difference!)
☀️ Visit the library or swap books with friends 📚
☀️ Write stories, letters, journals, shopping lists, or silly comics ✏️ Add in some extra fun & write letters to your friends as pen pals! ✉️
☀️ Practice math through cooking, games, shopping, and everyday activities ➕
☀️ Get outside, explore nature, create, build, imagine, and PLAY! 🌿🎨

🍎 AHPS is again offering FREE Summer Meals for all children & teens 18 and under this summer! Meals will be available at several locations across the Alleghany Highlands beginning June 4.

📅 Sign-up form available under Important Information on the AHPS website, www.ahps.k12.va.us. Deadline to sign up is May 21.

Callaghan Elementary PTO is looking for new members for the 2026–2027 school year & we would LOVE to have you join us! 💙🐾

We wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week with The Pour Mare this morning!🐴 Our teachers each got a delicious drink as their final “thank you” gift 🤍

🍉🧺 School is a Picnic with Teachers like you!🌼🍓

Our parents and PTO packed a little sunshine into Teacher Appreciation Week with a Pancake Bar this morning and a picnic-themed lunch! From tasty treats to picnic vibes, today was all about celebrating the incredible staff who help our students grow, learn, and thrive every day.
