Please join us on Memorial Day for events paying tribute to the brave people who died for our country. Rangers and volunteers (easily identifiable by their bright yellow hats and shirts) will be on duty at all of the veterans memorials on Memorial Day to answer questions and provide information about how these memorials honor those who gave their lives for their country. Thr public is invited to the Memorial Day Ceremony (tomorrow) at the Alleghany County Courthouse, starting at 11am. If it is raining, the ceremony will begin held at the Farmer's Market pavilion.

The group will caravan to the location and the ceremony will begin at 1100. If it is raining, the ceremony will take place at the farmer's market pavilion.

This Sunday, May 25 at 8:00pm, members of the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters will perform at the annual National Memorial Day Concert on PBS as part of the joint military chorus. 🇺🇸

The National Memorial Day Concert honors our country’s veterans, servicemen and women and military families. The concert unites the country in remembrance and appreciation of those who gave their lives for our nation.

Edgemont Drive in Covington, VA 10-4 Veteran's Car Show sponsored by Kars Unlimited from 4-8 bouncies for kids rented through Calloway Enterprises! Music from 4-930 with Last Chance Band and American Honey (featuring our very own local Hometown musician, Mr. Jeff Dudley). Food will be available from Love All BBQ, JKK Concessions and to top off with something sweet from Gigi's Walking Desserts or Flurries. SEE YOU ALL THERE! Let's get the summer started

Have you seen "banners" hanging from area utility poles and wondered what they are? They are part of the "Roads of Honor Banner" program! Would you like to honor a Veteran in your family or maybe even yourself?? Our post is managing the "Road of Honor" banner activity for Covington, Clifton Forge, Iron Gate and Alleghany County. Each banner cost $200. Application forms can be picked up at the Alleghany Highlands Industrial Heritage and Technology Center, 227 N. Maple Ave., Covington, VA. Forms also are available at the Clifton Forge Town Manager's office.

A big thanks to the members of Auxiliary Post 1033 for their continuing support of this semi-annual event. Proceeds fund our post's charitable donations, as well the annual awards we award to area students and teachers.
