Happy work anniversary to Administrative Specialist Carolyn McNerney!

Two years ago, Carolyn was hired to assist BE NKY Chief Economic Development Officer Kimberly Rossetti and Northern Kentucky Port Authority Executive Director Christine Russell, but she has since gone above and beyond in her role for both organizations, and for tenants at the OneNKY Center.

This role will advance BE NKY’s mission by ensuring BE NKY and its Charitable Corporation as well as the Northern Kentucky Port Authority maintain accurate financial records, strong financial controls and reliable reporting that supports informed decision making and responsible stewardship of organizational resources.

Congratulations to Rhonda Whitaker Hurtt, this year’s winner of the Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III Northern Kentucky Economic Development Award. BE NKY presents this award annually to an individual, entity, company or organization demonstrating significant advancement of economic development efforts in Northern Kentucky.

While serving as Vice President of Community Relations & Local Government Affairs at Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky, she collaborated closely with BE NKY Growth Partnership and other regional economic development partners to drive projects that created thousands of jobs and generated billions of dollars in capital investment across the Greater Cincinnati region.

Long Island native Nick Lyktey says Northern Kentucky has provided him with a life he didn’t even think was possible.

Lyktey moved to Northern Kentucky for a job at Gravity Diagnostics. He had only planned to stay in the region for about one year, but that one year has turned into seven. Now, Lyktey and his wife, who recently welcomed a daughter, are raising their family in Northern Kentucky.

Happy three-year work anniversary to Client Relations Specialist Riley McLaren, who has been integral in helping the Northern Kentucky region take steps to transform and improve sites for future development, positioning Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties for continued economic growth.

This past year, Riley was instrumental in managing BE NKY’s partnership with Duke Energy and its Site Readiness Program, and he also assisted with multiple applications for the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, a statewide effort to support upgrades at industrial sites throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
