The Ygnacio Valley High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a resource for the community in support of students, families, teachers, and staff so that students thrive at YVHS. PTSA is a volunteer association where parents, educators, students, and other citizens can be active in their schools and communities. The purpose of PTSA is to promote the welfare of children and youth at home, school and throughout the community. Our goal is to create a relationship through collaboration with students, families, schools and the community.We provide provide the following in order to promote student success:
Provide scholarships to our Senior students
Provide scholarship for student field trips. Provide teachers with monetary support all related to school activities or programs
Teacher Appreciation Week
Funding for Grad Night

Dear Families,

Did you know that your voice, ideas, and experiences can help shape your child’s education?

We warmly invite you to join us for our upcoming English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting! This is a welcoming opportunity to connect with other families, learn about school resources, and share your ideas to help our students succeed.

At ELAC, families can:

Share ideas to support student success.

Learn about school programs, resources, and opportunities.

Partner with school leadership to strengthen services and support for English learners.

Your participation matters! When families and schools work together, our entire school community grows stronger. We would love to hear your thoughts, answer your questions, and work together to support your child’s success.

PTSA Presentation: Learn about the PTSA and how they support our school.

School Information and Highlights: Review our California school dashboard results.

Past Survey Results: Learn about previous survey findings and share your input on school policies.

Graduation Requirements: Learn how to help your child stay on track for high school graduation and college eligibility.

Family Check-In Stations: Get updates on your child’s attendance, grades, graduation status, and ELPAC level.

All families are welcome! We encourage you to attend, bring your questions, and share your ideas. We hope to see you and your family there!

We are excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week and promote the importance of making healthy, positive, and responsible choices. We encourage you to continue the conversation at home by talking with your child about making safe choices and surrounding themselves with positive influences.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students and help them grow into healthy, confident, and successful individuals.

YV students and families,

Halloween is fast approaching, and we are excited for our YV students to celebrate! To ensure a safe and respectful day for everyone, please review our costume guidelines below:

No Face Masks: Students must be easily identifiable at all times. Ski masks, full-face coverings, and face-obscuring inflatable costumes are not permitted.

No Toy Weapons: Swords, ninja gear, toy/water guns, sticks, lightsabers, or similar items are strictly prohibited. Unsure about a prop? Email us a photo ahead of time for approval.

Standard Dress Code Applies:

Shirts must be worn, and private areas must remain fully covered.

No references to alcohol, drugs, weapons, or offensive themes.

No political impersonations( In light of the political climate around the country

Respect Cultural Heritage: Cultures and religions are sacred and must be respected—they are not costumes.

Classroom & PE Ready: Costumes must allow students to sit comfortably, learn, and participate fully in PE. Large inflatables that impair mobility or cover the face are not allowed.
