Please join us in welcoming the two newest members to the Upper Arlington Rotary Club. Zach Lee and Bob Chambers were introduced and inducted into the club at this week's meeting. Bob is a retired retina surgeon, having spent 25 years at The Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology and 10 years a partner at Midwest Retina. Zach is an Attorney/Of Counsel at Peterson Law LLP. Please join us in welcoming them to Upper Arlington Rotary.

Please join us in welcoming Carl Scharf as the newest member of the Upper Arlington Rotary Club. Carl is a CPA and Tax Advisory Services Shareholder at Schneider Downs.

According to Carl, he joined UA Rotary because "I'd like to make a tangible difference and give back to the UA community, while also showing my children that 'Service above Self' is an important value. I also look forward to the fellowship and camaraderie that comes along with it."

Carl was introduced at this week's meeting by Angela Lanctot.

Upper Arlington Rotary Club held our "Changing of the Guard" ceremonies at yesterday's meeting as Angela Lanctot completed her year as Rotary president and John Krauss began his term as president.

As Angela's last act as president, she awarded Dave Shelby with the club's Service Above Self Award for his years of service to the club.

Please join us in thanking and congratulating Angela on a fantastic job leading our club and in wishing John the best of luck as he takes over club leadership.

This week we celebrated Parent-Grad Day at Upper Arlington Rotary Club where master of ceremonies Bill Hosket recognized the recent graduates who are children and grandchildren of our members. This year's ceremony marked the 50th year that UA Rotary has hosted this cherished tradition.

We also awarded this year’s Upper Arlington Rotary Club Community Service Scholarship Award winners, all incredible Upper Arlington High School seniors who we have recognized for their incredible dedication and contributions to our community, in addition to their remarkable academic achievements. The Award recipients, who are each receiving a $2,000 scholarship from UA Rotary were: Natalie Ness, Alberto Manganelli, Alexander Skoracki and Nora Ginnan.

Finally Alan Yarletts presented this year’s recipient of the Alan Yarletts Interact Service Scholarship Award, recognizing the most outstanding UA High School Senior who has participated in Upper Arlington Interact. This year’s recipient of the $3,000 scholarship is Meredith McCormick, who participated in Interact four straight years with a remarkable 95% attendance, and over 341 hours of service, along with achieving the highest academic honors. Congratulations!!!

Upper Arlington Rotary Club members have been bell ringing and collecting donations for the Salvation Army all week at the Chambers Rd. Kroger store. We will be there through this Saturday. Stop by and say hi and help support the Salvation Army.
