CMBA churches are encouraged to participate in the next Executive Team meeting held on Tues., Sept. 15, at 6:30pm at Palmetto Life Church, 2204 Park Street in Columbia.

In addition to a brief business session, prayer will be a primary focus of our time together that evening. Desserts and coffee will be served.

Churches of any size can live on mission and show up for neighbors by committing to a public school partnership this coming year.

City of Refuge Church has a four-year partnership with neighboring J.P. Thomas Elementary. Pastor JayWill Wilson says "the Lord has been so kind. We are no longer just offering good things or quick fixes; we are now a part of their community.” Next, the church is exploring opportunities at Alcorn Middle School as elementary students transition there.

Churches of any size can be on mission and show up for neighbors through a public school partnership this school year.

As a church of about 15 members, Earlewood Baptist Church began growing relationships at a middle school last year by founding student Lego and robotics clubs, focusing on teacher appreciation, and meeting basic needs, like their winter clothing drive that collected 250 coats. According to Pastor Shawn, “it’s a real partnership, not a one-time thing. We’re as embedded as you can get.”

Churches of any size can begin showing up for neighbors by committing to a faithful, regular presence in public schools this school year.

Spears Creek Baptist Church members have been able to share the hope of the Gospel through personal relationships built through local school partnerships. Pastor Josh Blythe wants CMBA churches to know that schools have "opportunities for ministry throughout every community."
