Members from 14 congregations are learning how to make their churches safer today at CMBA’s abuse prevention workshop, sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Convention and hosted by Spring Valley Baptist Church.

Lower Richland was well represented at today’s Columbia Metro Baptist Association Sexual Abuse Prevention and Survivor Care Workshop: Cameron DeBrew from Beulah Baptist, Gregg Heinisch from Temple, Buddy Young from Lebanon Methodist, and Linda Collins from Camp Cole.

Protecting children is a responsibility shared by our churches and our entire community. Today’s workshop focused on strengthening policies, improving procedures, preventing abuse, and responding with wisdom and compassion when concerns arise.

We are grateful for local leaders who are willing to learn, prepare, and work together to help make every place children gather as safe as possible.

Last call for registrations for the Sexual Abuse Prevention Workshop hosted at Spring Valley Baptist Church on Sept. 23!

This is a free training that includes lunch, so registration is required but will close on Sept. 20.

Reminder that participants are asked to bring copies of their church's bylaws, policies and procedures to the workshop.
