He is probably going to give us a hard time for posting this because he’s as humble as they come, but today’s is dedicated to our very own SCSDA President, Paul Caskey! 👏🐾

Many of you know Paul personally. Others may not realize the countless hours he dedicates behind the scenes to the South Carolina Sporting Dog Association. From advocating for our sport, attending hearings at the State House, organizing events, and answering calls, emails, and questions at all hours, Paul consistently puts the sporting dog community before himself.

But this recognition isn’t just for Paul.

His wife, Erin, has been right there every step of the way. The old saying is, “Behind every great man is a great woman,” but in this case, it’s more accurate to say that Paul and Erin stand side by side, working together to protect our heritage, support our members, and strengthen South Carolina’s sporting dog community. ❤️🐾

The success and growth of the SCSDA didn’t happen by accident. It happened because of dedicated people like Paul and Erin who are willing to step up, serve, and do the work that often goes unseen.

Today, we simply want to say THANK YOU for your leadership, commitment, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. The sporting dog community is stronger because of your efforts, and we are grateful for all that you do. 🇺🇸🦌🐶

Today we’re spotlighting one of the strongest parts of the SCSDA family — our CLUB MEMBERSHIP LEVELS 💪🐾 These levels allow organized hunting clubs across South Carolina to stand together, strengthen our voice, and protect the future of sporting dogs.

SCSDA offers three CLUB MEMBERSHIP LEVELS:

🔹 STANDARD CLUB MEMBERSHIP – $500
Includes up to 15 members

🔹 PREMIUM CLUB MEMBERSHIP – $750
Includes up to 25 members

🔹 PLATINUM CLUB MEMBERSHIP – $1,000
Includes up to 50 members ✨

As we prepare for a busy 2027 legislative season, EVERY MEMBERSHIP MATTERS. When clubs join at the Standard, Premium, or Platinum level, they’re adding real numbers, real voices, and real influence to protect the tradition we all love. 📣

For decades, the Southeastern Treeing Walker Association has been a cornerstone of the Treeing Walker community across the Southeast, bringing hunters, breeders, handlers, and sporting dog enthusiasts together through fellowship, competition, and a shared passion for outstanding hounds. Their annual Southeastern Treeing Walker Days event in Union, South Carolina draws participants from across the region and has become one of the premier gatherings for Treeing Walker enthusiasts.

🐾 In Loving Memory of Jay Holbert 🐾
This week, our SCSDA family mourns the loss of longtime supporter and friend, Jay Holbert.

Jay’s enthusiasm for the outdoors was unmatched. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or running dogs, he brought an energy and joy that lifted everyone around him. His love for South Carolina’s sporting traditions ran deep, and he shared that passion generously with those fortunate enough to spend time beside him.

A 4th‑generation accountant, Jay built a respected career with his family’s business, Holbert Company Inc., and was an entrepreneur whose work touched many corners of Horry County. His dedication to his community, his family, and the outdoors leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Holbert family and all who loved Jay.

May his memory continue to run strong through the traditions he cherished.
