This is what democracy is supposed to feel like.

South Carolinians spent months raising issues, reacting, voting, and making their voices heard. The top issues that emerged, growth and roads, rising costs, slow wages, and leaders who aren't listening, are now heading into Community Conversations this June.

In person or online, you can be part of the next chapter. Small groups. Real talk. Ideas that feed into a statewide civic assembly this October at USC Law School.

Events Join a Community Conversation Throughout June 2026, all South Carolinians will be invited to join small group, face-to-face conversations on the top-identified issues from our prior deliberative round. Participants will discuss the issue(s) of greatest interest to them and collaboratively ide...

These conversations are months in the making.

South Carolinians across the state weighed in on the issues facing our communities. You voted. You prioritized. And four issues rose to the top: infrastructure and growth, cost of living, wages, and elected accountability.

This June, we are hosting small group conversations where South Carolinians work toward real solutions together. Join online from anywhere in the state. 60 minutes. Free. No downloads needed.

Early this week, we held our first Community Conversation in Columbia, where residents came together to discuss some of the top issues facing the state, including growth, roads, and infrastructure, responsiveness of elected officials, rising cost of living, and slow wage growth and opportunities. With more Community Conversations planned in Greenville and Charleston, as well as online conversations open to anyone in the state, we are just getting started!

South Carolinians from across the state spent months identifying and prioritizing the issues that matter most here at home. Roads and infrastructure. Rising costs. Slow wages. Leaders who need to be more responsive.

This June, we move from identifying problems to building solutions, together, in small group conversations in person and online.

June is almost here, and so are Community Conversations.

You voted, you weighed in, and you told us what matters most.

Now comes the next step.

This June, we're gathering in small groups, in person and online, to take the issues you elevated and start building real solutions together. Growth and roads. Cost of living. Wages. Elected leaders who actually listen.
