🚨 URGENT COLORADO FOSTERS NEEDED FOR KOLT & ATHENA 🚨
Time is running out. Kolt and Athena need foster placement by the 20th of this month. They can stay together, but they can also go to separate Colorado foster homes.
A professional behaviorist recently evaluated both dogs, and the results were incredibly encouraging. These are not dogs who have given up. These are dogs who deserve a chance.
❤️ ATHENA
Athena is still very much a puppy at heart. As is common with Rottweilers, she is a slow-maturing dog who is still developing both physically and behaviorally.
The behaviorist described Athena as: ✅ Receptive to people
✅ Responsive to training
✅ Quick to learn new expectations
✅ Highly trainable with excellent potential
Athena will thrive with: • Daily exercise and mental enrichment
• Consistent structure and routines
• Clear expectations and reinforcement
• An experienced owner committed to training
She shows promise for activities such as nose work, scent detection, search and rescue, and other task-oriented training opportunities.
Athena would likely do best either: • In a home where she and Kolt are the only dogs, or
• With an experienced foster or adopter who can dedicate time to helping her continue developing into the incredible dog she is capable of becoming.
The behaviorist's conclusion:
"Athena appears to be a promising rehoming candidate whose success will depend heavily on appropriate placement, consistent guidance, and an understanding of her ongoing developmental needs."
🐾 KOLT
Kolt impressed the evaluator with his maturity, adaptability, and ability to settle independently.
The behaviorist described him as: ✅ Social and friendly
✅ Behaviorally mature for his age
✅ Adaptable and cooperative
✅ Able to relax without constant attention
While he loves interaction and companionship, Kolt showed an encouraging ability to regulate himself and transition from play and engagement to quiet relaxation.
Kolt could do well in a variety of homes that provide: • Daily exercise
• Mental enrichment
• Consistent structure and boundaries
• Meaningful companionship
The evaluator noted that Kolt may be a good candidate for a family environment with careful introductions and supervision. His easygoing nature suggests he could adapt successfully to many different lifestyles.
The behaviorist's conclusion:
"Kolt appears to be a promising rehoming candidate with the potential to thrive in a structured, companion-oriented household."
⏰ THEY NEED HELP NOW
These wonderful dogs have been given a positive professional evaluation and deserve the opportunity to move forward into safe, loving foster homes.
📍 They do NOT need to be fostered together. 📍 Separate placements are welcome. 📍 Rottweiler experience is a plus, especially for Athena. 📍 The deadline to secure placement is the 20th.
Please share, foster, network, and help us find these amazing dogs a safe place to land before time runs out.
