In 2021, Partners in Housing celebrated with a small gathering of staff, current and past members of their Board of Directors, long-time supporters, and volunteers to celebrate 30 years of assisting families in our community.

The attendees enjoyed dinner and a toast to Partners in Housing for 30 years of service. Barbara Harris, Board Chair, welcomed the group, Mitchell High School ROTC provided a flag ceremony, and Father Ron Raab the dinner blessing. After dinner, Dick Conn, former Executive Director, provided remarks on the early days of the agency and Mary Stegner, current Executive Director, spoke about the ongoing needs of families and introduced incoming Board Chair Keri Ellen White.

We are in need of donations for families in the Self-Sufficiency program!
Specific items are small desks, small bookshelves, couches, and dressers. Light, compact, apartment-sized furniture is the best.
If you would like to see if your items would be a good fit, please send photos of your donations to Tarin at [email protected]. Once donations are approved, you can set up a donation drop off anytime M-F, 9am-4pm with Tarin at our Donation Center (450 Gold Pass Heights).

Taking us back to 2020!

Partners in Housing got creative in the age of COVID-

As we modified our service delivery plans, we also hosted COVID testing sites and transformed the dining hall at the Colorado House into a second free Donation Center supplied with many items needed by families. Today, this location is utilized as our Colorado House pantry equipped with food, hygiene items, and baby essentials for easy access to Partners.

We also began our partnership with PCs for People to provide computers to families in need, equipped with Microsoft software. During this time, Partners in Housing also began paying for internet at all transitional housing properties as WiFi became essential for everyday essentials such as work, school, doctors' appointments, job searches, and more.

A donor-advised fund is a tax-efficient, charitable giving account managed by a sponsoring organization, allowing donors to make contributions, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants and charities over time. It functions like a charitable savings account, offering flexibility to grow assets tax-free while supporting causes.

to 2019!

Partners in Housing staff and Board worked for many hours to update our agency mission statement. We all agreed that the new statement “Partners in Housing guides families in housing crisis from insecurity to stability, self-reliance and prosperity”, represents the varied circumstances with which families are dealing and the opportunities provided by Partners in Housing to make life long, lasting changes.

The Board and staff also developed and approved a strategic plan for growth to serve more families and to serve the families in our program with more in-depth engagements, which included the addition of Housing Navigation as a program component!

Housing Navigation is provided to families about 6 months into their time with us. This new offering assists households in their search for housing beyond our Self-Sufficiency Program, which includes one-on-one meetings with our Housing Navigator to identify the key factors landlords will look at when reviewing applications, along with determining what properties make the most sense to apply based on their individual budget, eligibility, needs, and preferences. Along with consultation for families, our Housing Navigator is an advocate for our clients in our community. This is accomplished by building relationships with landlords and property managers to reassure that the families we recommend can be trusted to pay their rent on time and take good care of their property.

Volunteers from First Interstate Bank recently helped us pull weeds in the playground and around the building, refresh the mulch on our playground, and clean up the parking garage at the Colorado House.
