’Twas the eve of the gala, when all through the hall,
Not a gift was yet placed, not one big or small.
The stockings were hung in hopes with great care,
While children’s bright laughter awaited to share.
The members of YOT with books and with toys,
Had worked all year through for the girls and the boys;
With Queen Palmer Elementary School’s children in mind,
And Early Connections Learning Centers aligned.

When out in the foyer there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their planning to see what was the matter.
Away to the door they flew in a rush,
And glimpsed generous faces, no moment to hush.
The minute the guests entered — the twinkle, the glow —
Of two unwrapped books and toys in a row;
They filled bags and baskets, each heart full of cheer,
To brighten young eyes this time of the year.
When what to their wondering eyes should appear,
With silent auction prizes and an entrance fee dear;
“Come one, come all,” the YOT call rang clear,
“Your $10 plus donations bring hope, bring good cheer!”
With door prizes galore and smiles wide and bright,
The spirit of giving filled every light.
Parents and sponsors, friends gathered near,
United in purpose, their hearts so sincere.
The children will wake to a world touched by care,
Thanks to each book and toy placed with love there.
And the YOT Club’s voyage — though one special night —
Lifts a year’s worth of hope into children’s delight.
So here’s to the mission, to laughter and play,
May this event bring sunshine in every way.

🎁 Bring 2 children’s K–5 books and 2 unwrapped K–5 toys
🍸 Includes a FREE signature YOT Club treat!
