Ready to Build with Confidence?

Take the first step toward becoming an independent maker in Gizmo's woodshop!

Our Pathway to Certification: Woodshop Basics class is designed for anyone who wants to safely learn the fundamentals of the woodshop while working toward certification on some of Gizmo's most-used tools.

In this hands-on class, you'll receive an introduction to the woodshop and learn to safely use:
Hand Tools
Drill & Impact Drivers
Handheld & Bench Belt Sanders
Clamps & Vises
Miter Saw

Whether you're dreaming of building furniture, home projects, gifts, or simply learning a new skill, this class is the perfect place to start.

3:30–5:30 PM

Members: FREE (registration required)
Non-Members: $40

Certification is based on instructor evaluation, and registration is required. If the class is full, join the waitlist—we'll add additional sessions as demand grows!

The Literacy Project is another non-profit organization that is in our building here on the NIC campus. We had a great time working together to make stickers for their Walk, Run, Read event. This event will be on September 19th at Coeur d'Alene city park. This is a family friendly event with a 5K run/walk starting at 8am, followed by books and fun at 9. Put it on your calendar and join us!

We love our community! As you may know, Tubbs Hill is a beloved landmark a very short distance from us here at Gizmo-cda. We wanted to share this opportunity in case you have not seen it. Thank you KEA and all of the volunteers to be.

SAVE THE DATE - Trash Clean Up!

Join Kootenai Environmental Alliance for a couple of hours of good company and trash clean-up.

Sunday, August 23rd, the fun begins at 9 am at the 3rd Street entrance of Tubbs Hill.

We'll enjoy a meet and mingle with Evans Brothers Coffee and baked treats from Back Pocket Bakery to fuel up for and strategize our clean-up.
The actual clean-up begins at 10 am and lasts until noon.

Please bring your own reusable gloves, a water bottle, sturdy shoes for walking, and whatever you need for a couple hours of community care. KEA will provide the bags.

The 3rd annual Gizmo Goes Bowlistic fundraiser is getting closer! Purchase a handmade bowl for $20 each, watch demos, learn about pottery, find treasures in our silent auction, and snack on some popcorn. Grab a friend and make it a date!

Gizmo Goes Bowlistic is a fundraiser for Gizmo-cda, a non-profit makerspace in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. A portion of the proceeds from this event goes directly to supporting our pottery studio. Thank you to our sponsors ICCU and Five Pine Wealth Management. We look forward to seeing you there!
