In celebration of Slovenia’s Statehood Day, the City of Cleveland will once again honor the Slovenian community and its rich heritage.

📅 On June 25, 2026, the Slovenian flag will be raised at Cleveland City Hall in recognition of Slovenia’s Statehood Day.

On June 26, 2026, the iconic Terminal Tower will be illuminated in the colors of the Slovenian flag.

These special tributes reflect the friendship, respect, and pride shared between Cleveland and its vibrant Slovenian community, whose contributions have helped shape the city for generations.

Ob dnevu državnosti Republike Slovenije bo mesto Cleveland ponovno počastilo slovensko skupnost in slovensko dediščino.

📅 25. junija 2026 bo na stavbi Cleveland City Hall v čast slovenskemu dnevu državnosti zaplapolala slovenska zastava.

Last year, Robert Goter broke the Slovenian record for longest accordion performance by playing for 58 hours, 21 minutes, and 24 seconds. This year he tries again for the World Record, which is over 80 hours of playing. Watch him live on Youtube:

We were honored to welcome Mayor Justin M. Bibb to the Voinovich Exhibition at the Slovenian Museum and Archives / Slovenski muzej in arhiv today. Thank you, Mayor Bibb, for taking the time to visit and recognize the importance of preserving and sharing the stories that shaped our community and city.

This exhibition is especially relevant today, reminding us of the enduring value of civic leadership, cultural heritage, and bringing communities together across generations.
