Last week, WPKND and the project partners for the Old Lorain Connector Trail officially cut the ribbon on the new path linking the Kamm’s Corners neighborhood to the Rocky River Reservation!

The Old Lorain Connector Trail is a 0.3 mile recreational trial that begins at the intersection of Riveredge Road and Bradgate Avenue. The trail snakes its way down the hillside where it eventually connects to the thirty-three mile stretch of the Emerald Necklace Trail near Little Met Golf Course.

West Park Kamm’s Neighborhood Development staff and Board of Directors would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the partners who helped to make the Old Lorain Connector Trail a reality. It was a pleasure to partner on a project that better connects Kamm’s Corners residents to one of the neighborhood’s greatest natural assets.

The list of folks who helped get this project across the finish line is long but includes Cleveland City Councilman Charles Slife, Cuyahoga County Councilman Dale Miller, Brian Zimmerman and the whole team at Cleveland Metroparks, Dr. Neil Smith and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, Community West Foundation, Michael Baker International, and NERONE & SONS, INC.

Read more about the trail and the process of turning the vision for the connector into reality at the link below.

West Park Kamm’s residents, it is time to find your path!

Last Saturday West Park Kamm’s Neighborhood Development was thrilled to welcome its newest business, Premier Hair Replacement, to the neighborhood!

Premier Hair Replacement offers non-surgical hair replacement systems to clients that blend seamlessly with their natural hair and help to restore confidence. Theo and his team assist clients through consultations, installation, and maintenance to provide a one stop shop to those in need of hair replacement.

Huge congratulations to Theo Challouf, Patrick Burke, and the rest of their team for officially opening the doors on their newest venture.

The reactivation of the space was made possible in part thanks to support from Cleveland Neighborhood Progress through their Middle Neighborhood Initiative. The Premier Hair Replacement team was able to leverage grant funding to convert the space from a vacant office to a barbershop and breathe new life into one of Kamm’s Corners most prominent retail spaces.
