Most of the dogs in our rescue are saved from high kill shelters, some were homeless and abandoned. Red Barn Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Clayton, NC dedicated to saving dogs and puppies from shelter euthanasia. This lovely little “redhead” is Carrie, and her personality is every bit as beautiful as she is! 🥰

Carrie is about 2 years old, 43 pounds and our best guess is a Boxer/Collie mix. She’s a wonderfully easygoing girl — happy, relaxed, friendly with people and other dogs, and an absolute joy to walk. She has lovely manners and a calm nature, but don’t worry... there’s a playful side in there, too!

Carrie keeps her kennel nice and neat, so we believe she may already be house trained. She’s the kind of dog who seems like she could settle comfortably into all sorts of homes — whether you’re looking for a walking buddy, a playmate, or simply a sweet companion to hang out by your side. She's friendly with people, kids and with other dogs, but hasn't been exposed to cats while in our care.

Carrie really is the whole package. Now she just needs someone to realize she’s exactly what they’ve been looking for!

🚨 TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED TOMORROW! 🚨

Red Barn is saving Lila, a sweet, friendly girl whose time has run out. 💔 She must be picked up tomorrow (Friday), or she won’t live to see Saturday. 😭

We have most of her ride covered! 🙌 Lila has transportation from Tarboro to Zebulon, but we need someone to help with the last 20 miles or so of her freedom ride.

Can anyone meet her transport in Zebulon tomorrow and bring Lila the rest of the way to the barn in Clayton? It’s a short drive, but it will literally help save her life. ❤️

We don't yet have an exact time since it depends on the driver for the first leg of the trip, so we're looking for someone with some open availability tomorrow.

Our sweet Scooby has officially found his person! ❤️

His wonderful foster sent us this sweet video along with a photo of Scooby and his new mom, and we couldn’t think of a better way to share the happy news! Congratulations, Scooby! We hope your new life is filled with plenty of toys, lots of snuggles, and all the love you deserve.

A HUGE thank you to his foster family for giving Scooby a place to hang out while he waited for his forever home. Fosters truly do make happy endings like this possible!

The latest report on Skittles? This sweet boy puts himself in his crate when it’s time to chill. No asking. No convincing. Just, “Welp, I think I’ll go relax now.” 😂

Skittles is about 5½ months old and 30 pounds, housetrained, sleeps through the night in his crate, does well on leash, loves people and other dogs, and is just an all-around fun, sweet pup.

His temporary foster seems to agree with what we’ve been saying all along: “He is just great.” 🥹

So seriously… HOW is this guy still available?! HOW does he have ZERO Petfinder inquiries or adoption applications??! 🤷🥺

Skittles is staying with a temporary foster while his regular foster is on vacation, and she has sent us the CUTEST pictures of this boy living his best life. 😍 He’s 5½ months old, about 30 pounds (and our best guess is he’ll be around 40–55 pounds full grown.)

Skittles is more than just a cute face too! He is housetrained, crate trained, good on leash, dog friendly, people friendly, and LOVES water. 💦🐾 He’s playful, affectionate, fun and already such a great little companion.

Honestly… this pup should be adopted already! 🥹 Who is going to scoop him up?!

Sweet Fawn was just listed on Petfinder on Thursday, and she has already found her new home! 🏡❤️

Her new family actually submitted an application earlier this month without a particular dog in mind. They knew the characteristics they were looking for in a new pet, and thankfully, this sweet brindle girl checked all the boxes!

We couldn’t be happier to see Fawn start this next chapter with a family of her very own. And a big thank you to her adopters for choosing rescue! 🥰

Cody is an almost 5-year-old German Shepherd who is goofy, clumsy, a little clueless, and completely lovable! ❤️

Cody’s greatest passion in life? THE BALL. 🎾 Throw it, and you’ve made his entire day. He’ll happily play fetch as long as your throwing arm can keep up!

When there isn’t a ball involved, Cody’s next favorite activity is being as close to his person as physically possible. Personal space? Never heard of it. 😂 In Cody’s mind, this 90-pound boy is approximately 10 pounds and absolutely belongs in your lap.

Cody is carrying a few extra pounds, so he’s looking for a family who will help him work on his figure. Luckily, all that fetch should make getting more exercise pretty fun! 🎾🐕‍🦺
