In May alone, dozens of people in our community searched for:

These aren’t just numbers on a graph.

These are real people desperately looking for safety, hope, resources, and a way forward. They are mothers trying to protect their children, women escaping abusive situations, families facing homelessness, and individuals searching for someone to help.

At Her Haven of Light, we meet many of these people every week. We provide support, resources, referrals, essential needs, and a safe place to be heard during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

The need in our community is growing, and so is the demand for our services.

We Need Your Help 🩷

The cost of everything has gone up, and unfortunately, we’re feeling it too.

‼️ Over the past three weeks, we have served more clients than ever before, while at the same time receiving the lowest amount of donations we’ve ever seen. The need in our community is growing, and we are doing everything we can to keep our doors open and continue helping those who depend on us.

✨ As a nonprofit, every service we provide is made possible through the generosity of people like you. We currently have 1,900 followers on Facebook. If each follower committed to just $5 per month, it would provide $9,500 monthly to help cover operating expenses and ensure that every client who walks through our doors receives the support they need.

💖 No donation is too small. Every dollar makes a difference and helps us continue our mission of serving individuals and families in our community. All donations are tax-deductible.

Running a nonprofit is one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever been a part of, but it’s also one of the hardest.

When Her Haven of Light was started, it wasn’t because we had extra time, extra money, or all the answers. It was because we saw a need. We saw families struggling, mothers trying to make impossible choices, and children going without basic necessities. We knew we had to do something.

Over the years, we’ve been blessed to walk alongside so many families during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. We’ve provided food, clothing, toiletries, household essentials, emotional support, rental and utility assistance, counseling, resume building, job placements, medication assistance, and most importantly, hope. We’ve celebrated victories together and stood beside families through heartbreak and hardship.

But the reality is that nonprofits cannot operate on passion alone.

Every month, we face the challenge of keeping our doors open so we can continue serving those who depend on us. The need in our community has never been greater, yet the resources required to meet that need continue to grow.

If Her Haven of Light is forced to close its doors, it won’t just be a building that closes. It will mean families losing access to support they rely on. It will mean children going without necessities. It will mean mothers and fathers having one less place to turn when they are facing crisis.

This mission is bigger than any one person. It belongs to all of us who believe that no family should have to face hardship alone.

Today, I’m asking for your help. If you’ve ever believed in what we do, if you’ve ever shared one of our posts, volunteered your time, donated an item, or prayed for our mission, please consider supporting us again. Every donation, every share, and every prayer helps us continue serving the families who need us most.

✨ That’s a wrap on this round of support groups!

👏🏽 Last night, we closed out another session of our abuse support group. We are so proud of the strength, courage, and vulnerability shown by each woman who participated. Healing is not easy, but these women showed up, put in the hard work, and took meaningful steps toward peace and restoration.

🩷 We look forward to starting another round soon and continuing to build supportive relationships as women find hope, healing, and encouragement alongside others who understand their journey.

‼️ Over 83 clients along with their children have sat in this room so far in 2026 and shared their stories with us.

✨ Many tears have been shed here. For some, this is the first place they’ve found the courage to speak about what they’re walking through. We listen, support, and meet every person exactly where they are, with compassion and without judgment.

❤️‍🩹 Some days are heavier than others, and some stories are difficult to wrap our minds around. But one thing remains true: we deeply care about every individual who walks through our doors seeking guidance, hope, and support.

🇺🇸 Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This Memorial Day, Her Haven of Light pauses to reflect on the courage, strength, and selflessness of those who gave their lives in service to others. We are forever grateful for the freedoms we have because of their sacrifice.

❤️🤍💙 As we spend time with loved ones today, may we also take a moment to remember the heroes and families carrying the weight of loss.
