Ross County Humane Society Intakes This page is to help with finding all stray intake dogs to the shelter get back to their homes.All dogs are held on a legal hold anywhere from 3 to 14 days.

Those wishing to apply for any of our pets must apply on our website.

All stray dogs without identification (dog license/microchip) are held for 72 hours and must be reclaimed within that the period. Dogs held more than 72 hours become the property of RCHS and may be adopted out or transferred to another rescue after their legal hold is up.

Dogs wearing valid identification are held for 14 days. Please contact Ross County Humane Society if this is your dog or you know whose dog it is.

Those wishing to reclaim dogs after their legal stray hold must go thru the standard adoption process and pay an adoption fee.
