You can visit the Adena Mansion & Gardens property for a short time, or a long time. To have the fullest experience, though, there are a few things you might want to consider...

It takes approximately two hours to tour the mansion, visit the museum, and walk the grounds and gardens. Sometimes folks like to spend longer, especially with beautiful weather. We might be biased, but we think it’s all pretty neat to see!

We’re open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:30AM to 5 PM. On Sundays, we’re open from noon to 5 PM. Our season continues until November 15th this year!

If you’d like to go inside the mansion, you can do so on a guided tour. We offer three tours daily from Wednesday to Saturday at 11, 1, and 3, and two tours on Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. Each tour lasts about an hour.

When you pay for the tour, it includes the museum in the Visitors’ Center building as well. But if you just have a few minutes, you can always walk around outside and enjoy our beautiful hilltop and gardens for free.

A very exciting, FREE event for America 250 - Ross County, OH is coming up in two weeks at Adena Mansion & Gardens! Mark your calendars. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!

Step back in time at the Adena Mansion & Gardens on June 13–14, 2026 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday), for the America 250 Celebration with the Brigade of the American Revolution, Northwest Department. Experience the sights and sounds of the 18th century through artillery demonstrations, musket and rifle drills, soldiers' kit presentations, and period military music.

Visitors can explore hands-on exhibits, children’s games, cooking demonstrations, and the role of women of the era. Don’t miss George Washington, Ben Franklin, a flag retirement ceremony, beer making and other engaging activities that bring early American history vividly to life.

Last chance! The Adena Mansion & Gardens plant sale ends soon (Sunday, May 24th), so stop by if you haven’t yet. A big thank you to everyone in our community who’s already taken home plants!

If you picked up a tomato, here are a few quick tips for great results.

✅ Give them at least six hours of sun a day.
✅ Use a stake, trellis, or cage for support.
✅ Keep soil consistently moist with good drainage.
✅ Add compost or fertilizer, plus mulch if you can.
✅ Transplant gently as they grow, and check the needs of your specific variety.

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy competitions offer residents within a 25-mile radius of Circleville the chance to grow prize-winning Atlantic Giants using elite genetics.
The Charlie Brown Competition is for residents who have never grown a giant pumpkin before.
The Snoopy Competition is for those who entered the Charlie Brown contest last year but didn’t quite make it to the 2025 weigh-in.

Is your garden ready for spring planting? We've got you covered!
Stop by the Adena Mansion & Gardens greenhouses for our Spring Plant Sale beginning May 2. We've got a wide selection of vegetables and flowers, including heritage and heirloom varieties in 3", 4", and 6" pots, hanging baskets and flats starting at $2.50. Many of these are the same plants you’ll see growing in Adena’s historic gardens. Plus, our horticulturalist, Tom, will be on site to share advice.

Sale dates: May 2–May 24, or while supplies last
