The talking clock that ended the phone-checking habit.

Reaching for your phone to check the time sounds small until you're doing it several times a day, and each time the screen is too bright, too small, or just one more thing to squint at.

A talking clock tells you the time out loud, on demand. No screen. No glasses. No unlocking anything.

Bedside, kitchen counter, desk. Wherever time tends to be a question.

Find talking clocks and other talking tools at www.mytoolsforliving.com, in our store, or call a specialist directly at 1-800-919-3375

Your handheld magnifier got you here. But is it still keeping up?

There's a natural progression nobody talks about.

The handheld was perfect for quick tasks. But somewhere along the way, the quick tasks got longer, and holding a small screen steady for twenty minutes started feeling like a workout on top of the task you were already trying to do.

We wrote about the next step on the My Tech Tips blog. https://mytoolsforliving.com/blogs/my-tool-tips/beyond-handheld-electronic-magnifiers

Our specialists are in store to demo tools in person and available by phone to talk you through your needs 1-800-919-3375.

Explore when it’s time to move beyond smaller electronic magnifiers and discover larger, portable options built for easier, more comfortable daily use.

"My eyes are fine. I just need better glasses."

And sometimes it's true. But sometimes "I just need better glasses" is the story someone's been telling themselves for years while quietly adjusting everything around the thing they don't want to name.

Healthy Vision Month is about giving you permission to stop guessing and start making decisions with real information.

You don't have to be ready to call it anything. You just have to stop in the store to demo tools in person or call our specialists to talk through your needs 1-800-919-3375.

Happy Memorial Day! If you’re heading to a BBQ, park, or family visit today, a small plan can make the day feel calmer. New spaces often bring mixed lighting, glare, and “Where is it?” moments.

Before you leave, do a quick check: Bring sunglasses or a hat for glare, your phone charger, water, and one quick-read tool you trust. If you’re hosting, keep walkways clear and put drinks, plates, and utensils in one consistent spot.

Less problem-solving. More enjoying time with the people you care about.

If you’re traveling or attending a gathering this Memorial Day Weekend, make the day easier with a simple “essentials kit.” Sunglasses for glare, a charger, a magnifier, and comfort items. A structured bag like a Feeldom backpack can help keep everything in the same place so you are not searching all day.

It’s designed for you to find your items quickly with braille and tactile markers.

Carry comfort with you with a Feeldom backpack: https://bit.ly/4dbtDuy. Additional tools for accessibility and comfort are just a step away at our My Tools for Living store or by calling our store at 1-800-919-3375

Is your fridge working for you, or against you? Here's a 5-minute hack.

Everything's cold, everything's the same size, and maybe some labels face the wrong way.

Try this: pick one shelf, just one, and make it your daily zone. Milk, juice, go-to condiments, anything you reach for without thinking. That shelf only.

Then add contrast. A white tray for dark items. A dark tray for light ones. Your eye finds the edge automatically.

Five minutes now, for easy fridge finds every single day after.

You don't have to say "low vision." You don't have to have a diagnosis, a referral, or a reason that satisfies anyone else.

If the print's getting harder to read, if the lighting's never quite right, if you've started avoiding things you used to do without thinking -- that's enough.

We work with people at every stage of that experience. We'll meet you exactly where you are.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms in our low vision community, and to the moms who love and support them!

We see the quiet strength it takes to navigate busy days, shifting light, tiny print, and the constant problem-solving that most people never notice. We also see the care, patience, and humor it takes to keep life moving.

Today, we hope you feel celebrated, supported, and surrounded in the ways that matter most.

If a mom comes to mind, tag her or send her this post with a simple “thinking of you.”

“Reading support” isn’t one-size-fits-all. Quick checks like labels and receipts often call for handheld support, like Eschenbach SmartLux or a prescriptive magnifier. Longer reading at home, like mail, books, or paperwork, often feels better with a steadier, larger view, like Explore 12. The goal is a better match, not more stuff.

Our vision specialists are here to help with personalized solutions in person at the My Tools for Living Store, online at www.mytoolsforliving.com, or by calling us at 1-800-919-3375.

The Humanware Explore line of electronic magnifiers delivers the independence you desire to perform all your daily tasks and to engage with the world.
