Revive Center for Housing and Healing ReVive seeks to end homelessness and restore hope, that all might flourish. Restoring hope. Preventing homelessness.

These values have inspired ReVive since our inception over 100 years ago. ReVive was founded in 1915 as a storefront mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, providing food and clothing to the hungry, homeless, and poor. Today, ReVive provides programs and services targeting the homeless and at-risk of homelessness populations. ReVive’s Cressey House is a 28-unit, permanent supportive housing

program for homeless single adults and single-parent families who are dealing with addiction. Clients receive intensive case management to address employability, education, family relationships, health, and addiction as well as a rent-subsidized apartment. The same intensive case management is offered to homeless individuals not housed at ReVive Center for Housing and Healing in our Supportive Service Only program. ReVive’s community outreach programs include our legacy Christmas Basket Program providing Christmas gifts to individuals, families, and seniors who cannot afford to buy presents.

As the year draws to a close, we pause with full hearts to say thank you.

Because of the generosity and compassion of our community, ReVive Center for Housing and Healing’s 104th Christmas Basket Program brought joy and dignity to 1,023 families representing 2,846 neighbors this holiday season.

Through your gifts, struggling seniors and families received more than presents and food cards—they felt cared for, seen, and remembered.

Hope for Homes Day is July 17—Help Us Bring Hope and Healing Home

At ReVive, we believe that everyone deserves more than a roof—they deserve dignity, connection, and healing. That’s why on Hope for Homes Day, we’re raising $5,000 to support people moving from homelessness to stability.

Your donation helps us provide transportation, state IDs, cookware, furniture—real, tangible support that says: you matter.

It helps someone like Curtis who just received the keys to his first apartment in years. Or Maletus, who lived in shelters for years and now lives in an affordable apartment and volunteers in our community. Or Rose, who overcame homelessness and substance use and is now a certified recovery specialist giving back to others. I

We are filled with gratitude for the incredible collaboration that made the Free Food Giveaway at ReVive’s Cressey House a success!

A heartfelt thank you to Black Men United, Pastor Lafayette McGary, Reaching Out Ministries, A&L Youth and Family Services, State Representative Omar Williams, Senator Lakesia Collins, and Alderman Walter Burnett Jr for their leadership and commitment to serving our community.

Together, we provided nourishment, connection, and hope to families who need it most. Events like these remind us what’s possible when dedicated leaders and organizations unite for a common purpose.
