Thank you Human-Animal Support Coalition ! We’re so proud of how far you’ve come in such a short period of time!

This is high volume surgery 🩺 🐾

We mentioned recently that we are thrilled to have scaled up our operations quite a bit in our quest to increase access to preventative veterinary care for our community.

With a sizable increase in the number of patients we see, we wanted to determine whether our processes and protocols were still the right fit for the space we’ve grown into.

✨ So, we brought in the experts and welcomed back Be. Spay/Neuter Consulting today. Our dear friend Elsa Allen Kohlbus spent the day observing our flow, pointing out what’s working, and making suggestions on how we could best maximize our team’s strengths✨

Elsa is an integral part of the Maddie's Million Pet Challenge team who has also provided assessments for the Bell County Texas Animal Shelter and the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center 💖

While we lead with our hearts, we also put a lot of emphasis on growing, learning, training, and understanding the ever expanding science that is veterinary medicine👩‍⚕️

Thanks to Elsa, Dr. Holly Putnam, and our most wonderful staff today for being so open to discussion and for helping HASC to get a little better each day! Our team never ceases to amaze 💫

57 SURGERIES. 2 DAYS. BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. 🔥🐾

We spent two action-packed days with the staff and volunteers at Big Paws of the Ozarks, training, sharing skills, solving problems, and laying the groundwork for a sustainable, community-wide spay/neuter program.

We did 57 surgeries for shelters and the public over 2 days👏🌈

But the real win? Building the people and the capacity to do so much more‼️

This is what Be. is all about: don’t just FIX the problem. Be the solution🐾

Big thanks to Big Paws for bringing the energy, and for making this kind of community-powered change possible.

🏴‍☠️🐱 AHOY, MATEYS! Meet Frankie, the cutest little pirate kitten in Central Texas! 💙

Frankie was found on a ranch in Lampasas with a severely injured eye. After a little help from his friends at Ace of Spays, that troublesome eye is gone, and Frankie has officially entered his one-eyed pirate era. 👁️🏴‍☠️

And honestly? He’s pulling it off.

This handsome boy has absolutely ZERO time for feeling sorry for himself. He’s too busy being adorable, causing kitten chaos, and plotting his next adventure. 🐾😼

Now Frankie just needs to find his forever crew! ❤️

Frankie is available for adoption through Central Texas Feline Rescue and can be found on Petfinder.com . If you’ve always wanted a tiny, fluffy pirate to captain your household, Frankie is your guy. 🏴‍☠️⚓️

As we pack up for our next big adventure, we take a moment to reflect on the wonderful clinics we had last month in the hot and sunny RGV ☀️

First up was our clinic serving the public in partnership with Palm Valley Animal Society. We welcomed Dr Alycia Eisenstein and her lovely tech Raina who worked alongside the always amazing Palm Valley techs and volunteers. This is such an important community service and we are proud to be a part of it‼️

Next up came our clinics sponsored by Maddie's Fund.

Dr. Jennifer Lavender led our surgical training program, where Dr Kuehr performed 20 surgeries daily, learning all the highest quality standards and techniques to take back to the shelter she works at in Brownsville.

At Donna North High School we were fortunate to welcome Dr. Little of Little Veterinary Services for our last of the “summer camp” clinics, where we covered basics like handling, patient monitoring and exams. As a bonus, Dr Little showed them how to use a portable ultrasound. The kids are so ready to learn this school year ‼️🐾

We did! Thanks to Dr. Little of Little Veterinary Services we are offering FREE Pit Bull spays (not neuters) on August 25th.

We have openings for two large house hippos (41-75 lbs) and two small house hippos (3-40 lbs).

Appointments require a $30 non-refundable deposit, which you can apply towards vaccines (we require rabies and parvo/distemper-which you can get with us on day of surgery), nail trims, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, etc.

And if that's not fantastic enough, your FREE spay comes with a FREE microchip 😍

Last week our team had the privilege of leading a hands-on MASH training clinic alongside the incredible teams at Longview Animal Care & Adoption Center and Longview PAWS. 🐾
Our trainers worked shoulder-to-shoulder with staff and volunteers, sharing skills, building confidence, and strengthening the foundation for sustainable, high-quality spay/neuter services in the community.🌈

What impressed us most wasn’t just the number of surgeries (151!!), it was the energy, teamwork, and unwavering commitment from everyone involved. 👏
Longview has embraced the vision of increasing access to spay/neuter, and this clinic showed what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose.🙌

This clinic is the direct result of our initial consultation, made possible , and our partnership through the Maddie's Million Pet Challenge (MMPC). It’s a reminder that meaningful change doesn’t happen in a single day, it happens through collaboration, training, and investing in people.

Thank you to every staff member, volunteer, and partner who made these three days such a success. We can’t wait to see what Longview accomplishes next. 💙🐾

One of the most rewarding parts of our work at Be. Spay Neuter Consulting is getting to witness the growth that happens after we leave.

During a recent follow-up training visit with a clinic we worked with this spring, one of our veterinary trainers shared this feedback:

“The staff was a much better version of themselves than what we first saw. Efficient, working well together, great patient care.”

That’s the goal. 💙

High-quality, high-volume spay/neuter is about so much more than surgery numbers. It’s about building confident teams, creating efficient systems, improving patient care, and giving veterinary professionals the tools they need to thrive.
