Last week, we joined the Chicago Park District at Marquette Park for their Golf Skills Culminating Event. It was a fun day celebrating the end of their spring golf season with competition, lunch, and lots of spontaneous dance-offs!
We are so thankful to more than 70 volunteers from BMO who volunteered to help make the event possible and keep the energy high all day! It was really fun to watch the interactions between the volunteers and participants.

Every Monday, we celebrate the runners who have joined Team Special Children's Charities for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This week's featured runner is Joey Cheung. Joey told us about running to support opportunities for inclusion.

"Running a marathon has always been a personal challenge, but this year it means more.

I’m proud to run with Team Special Children’s Charities, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their mission of inclusion and opportunity for people of all abilities truly resonates with me.

As a parent of two boys, this cause hits close to home. Every person deserves to be supported, included, and valued. That’s what keeps me going through the early mornings and long training days.

This journey isn’t just about finishing a race — it’s about making a difference. Every mile I run is for something bigger than myself.

Thank you for helping me turn miles into meaningful impact."

Thank you so much to Joey for being a part of our team! Support his effort by making a donation to his campaign today! https://ow.ly/QvNz50Z87Pg

June is softball season! This month's artwork—celebrating a beautiful day at the ballpark —was created by Refugio ”Fig” Perez, who participates in Chicago Park District Special Recreation programs at Piotrowski Park. We love how Fig's drawing captures the dynamic moment when the pitch is on its way to the plate. All of the players are poised for action. We also love the way they used creative line work to show the excitement of the crowd. Great work Fig!

Every Monday, we celebrate the runners who have joined Team Special Children's Charities for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This week's featured runner is Joseph Traskaski. Joseph told us about what drove him to run this year's race for Team Special Children's Charities.

"My name is Joseph Traskaski, I've always wanted to run a marathon, but kept giving myself excuses not to. This year, I wanted to run for something bigger than myself, which is why I'm running for Special Children's Charities. I want to show people that anything is possible. While training and running a marathon might be hard, but it’s nothing compared to the resilience shown every day by the individuals and families this organization serves."

Thank you so much to Joseph for being a part of our team! Support his effort by making a donation to his campaign today!

Check out some photos from this week's All-Star Fest! This was such an incredible event, and a great way to celebrate the community that Special Children's Charities supports! All-Star Fest hosted thousands of guests who participated in rock climbing, adaptive bikes, bingo, miniature golf, dancing, a picnic, games, a petting zoo, a live wrestling show and so much more. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this special day possible, and to the Chicago Park District for all of the hard work involved in organizing this. We are already looking forward to next year!

If we had to sum up yesterday's All-Star Fest in one word, it would be BIG! A big day of fun in a big park with a big group of people that Special Children's Charities supports! And we want to give a big congratulations to the Chicago Park District on a fantastic event. Check out our stroll through the event and stay tuned for photos!
