Spring is a BIG season at South Loop, and Friends & Family of SLS is looking for parent and caregiver volunteers to support upcoming events that directly benefit our students.

We’re currently looking for help with:
• Spring Benefit (planning + event support)
• School Library support
• Walk-a-Thon (planning + event day help)

🚨 High Priority:
We are especially looking for volunteers to help on our Technology Committee, with a focus on website design and configuration. If you have experience here (or interest!), we would love your help.

🎉 New Board Member Alert! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Lauren Domecki Kabat to the Friends & Family Board as our new Director of Finance!

Lauren brings a wealth of experience in accounting and finance and has an incredible passion for supporting our South Loop school community. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join the team and help us continue making a difference for our students and teachers!

A little about Lauren in her own words:

"As a Chicago resident for over 20 years, I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to give back to this beautiful city. I grew up in a nearby suburb and moved to Chicago for my tax accounting career a year after graduating from college. I could usually be found wherever there was live music! More recently, my family and I have fallen in love with the South Loop neighborhood and local community - with Chinatown being my daughter's number one happy place!
In addition to my Finance background, I spent numerous summers as a day camp counselor and started babysitting regularly at 12. I am thrilled for all of these worlds to collide, and I will do my very best to help support all of the children in our schools!"
