🇺🇸🌭🍔 Memorial Day Celebration at Renaissance West! 🍔🌭🇺🇸

Residents at Renaissance West enjoyed a fantastic Memorial Day cookout filled with great food, fun activities, and wonderful company! The menu featured delicious burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad, garden salad, refreshing drinks, and a variety of tasty snacks that everyone enjoyed. ☀️😊

A special thank you to for joining the celebration, providing additional refreshments, and hosting a giveaway with exciting items for residents to take home. 🎁💙

Throughout the event, residents enjoyed a variety of games, laughter, and fellowship, making it the perfect opportunity to relax, have fun, and spend quality time together as a community. Events like these remind us of the importance of connection, friendship, and honoring the spirit of Memorial Day.

Generations Housing Initiatives is proud to serve as the supportive services provider for Casa Bienestar.

At our May 2026 meeting, the CHA Board of Commissioners approved:
🏘️ Five new Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts, adding 94 Project-Based Voucher (PBV) units
🏙️ Communities include Lakeview, Logan Square, Woodlawn, Grand Boulevard, and the Lower West Side
🏢 Supporting CHA’s ongoing commitment to expanding affordable, high-quality housing opportunities

“Residents belong at the center of everything we do, and these new vouchers reflect that commitment,” said CHA CEO Keith Pettigrew. “These 94 new PBVs will expand options for people who need housing and help build more inclusive neighborhoods across Chicago. We came here to deliver, and this is the kind of progress our residents deserve.” 🥰

Residents at Kenmore Plaza had the pleasure of attending an engaging and informative presentation by Mrs. Victoria Russo from DFSS titled “What’s in Your Closet?”

With a clear, step-by-step approach, Mrs. Russo shared practical strategies that lead to real results—helping residents create and maintain safe, organized living spaces. Her presentation was both eye-opening and empowering, giving residents tools they can immediately use to improve their homes and overall well-being.

🥪💙 Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time 💙🥪

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible nonprofit organizations Hitting the Streets and Guiding Light of Hope for their generous donation of over 600 bagged lunches to Generations Housing Initiatives!

These meals went a long way in helping fight hunger in communities identified as food deserts, bringing nourishment, comfort, and care directly to those who need it most.
