Community, connection, and a little time with the goats made for a wonderful day at Eden’s Forest Garden!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our season opener Volunteer Saturday event, held in collaboration with The Honeycomb Project.

Volunteers spent the day helping prepare the garden for a successful growing season by clearing weeds, building and refreshing planting beds, planting and watering, and maintaining garden and nature play areas. Along the way, they learned about urban farming, pollinators, composting, and community food access—and even had the chance to meet, play with, and feed the garden’s goats!

We’re grateful to The Honeycomb Project and all of the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to support this important community space.

This Thursday, Austin Veterans and Community Organization (AVCO), in partnership with American Legion Post 1932, will host a Pre-Memorial Day Veterans Tribute honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Community members are invited to attend on Thursday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at the 29th Ward Veterans Peace Garden, 5413 W. Madison.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday at Veterans Peace Garden to help clean up the community and refresh the garden. With at least 20 volunteers lending a hand, we collected 7.5 bags of trash, weeded, distributed mulch, and pruned throughout the garden.

Thank you as well to our co-hosts, Cleanup Club Chicago, for partnering with us and supporting this community effort.

We truly appreciate everyone’s hard work, time, and dedication to keeping our space beautiful for all.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Austin Food Ecosystem Initiative unveiling! 🙌 We were proud to be there alongside so many amazing organizations and appreciated everyone who stopped by our table. It was great connecting, sharing, and learning together.

Good vibes and plenty of connection filled the Good and Plenty Garden meet and greet today. Guests learned more about the garden, met new faces, and enjoyed making s’mores. Big thanks to our garden leaders, Terry and Lee, for hosting such a great event.
