Juneteenth is not just a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of freedom, resilience, and our continued commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom.

As live events professionals, we know the spaces we create have power. They can bring people together, honor stories, celebrate culture, and make room for voices that deserve to be heard.

Today, we honor the history of Juneteenth, celebrate Black freedom, and recommit to creating spaces rooted in inclusion, respect, and belonging.

Happy Juneteenth from ILEA Chicago.
