Sarah is a recent graduate of Tulane University, where she earned a degree in Public Health with a minor in International Development. Her experience in public health research, reproductive health advocacy, and community-focused initiatives has strengthened her passion for advancing health equity and improving access to care for women, children, and families. Now based in Chicago, Sarah is excited to contribute to EverThrive Illinois’ mission and connect with others working to create healthier, more equitable communities.

EverThrive IL has officially launched our new Respiratory Health Campaign, which runs from October 7th through December 31st.

As part of this campaign, we have developed a concise, easy-to-follow downloadable respiratory health resource in English and Spanish that provides adults, caregivers, and pregnant individuals the most-up-to date information on RSV, Flu, and COVID-19 vaccine recommendations and how to best prepare and protect their families this respiratory virus season. Today is the last day to register for the free screening & community discussion of Listen to Me with Sista Afya Community Wellness and EverThrive IL. We will be exploring the topic of Black motherhood, maternal health, and its connection to maternal mental health as we aim to increase awareness of the state of maternal healthcare in the United States, decrease stigma around maternal mental health, and improve support for Black mothers and families. After the screening, we will be hosting a community discussion to collectively process the film’s themes as a group.

A hospital on Chicago's South Side plans to close its labor and delivery department. The closure comes as Prime Healthcare ended obstetrics services at three other hospitals in Joliet, Aurora and Chicago on Thursday.
