🌿 Nature and Narratives | September 20 at 4 PM
Journey through the sounds of nature and belonging with rare traditional instruments and acclaimed artists from the United States, India, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand.
🎶 Featuring Chethan Anant, Tzu Tsen Wu, Chamni Sripraram (Ajarn Chamni), Pak Ngurah, and Abhijit Kastha.
Pak Ngurah Ensemble (Gusti Ngurah Kertayda, Lead) — KOKAR-trained Indonesian dance and music director leading Indonesian Dance of Illinois, a Chicago-area nonprofit promoting Indonesian culture.
Chethan Anant is a Chicago-based Indian Classical musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator, skilled in both Bansuri and vocals.
Chamni Sripraram (Ajarn Chamni) — Thai music educator at Northern Illinois University and longtime artistic director of the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute, honored with the Asian American Hall of Fame and President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Tzu Tsen Wu — Taiwanese multi-instrumentalist specializing in zhongruan and liuqin, performing internationally while pursuing a master’s in World Music at Northern Illinois University.
Abhijit Kastha — Indian classical tabla player with an M.A. in Tabla from Rabindra Bharati University, active since the early 2000s as a soloist and accompanist rooted in traditional talim under his guru.
