We are proud to bring Dan Cederholm over to Chicago to lead the charge as the Chair for the 2026 STA100 competition. A designer, accidental-entrepreneur, and maker of handmade things, Dan is founder of — a type foundry and goods show based in Salem, Massachusetts. Dan is famously the co-founder of Dribbble, and has worked with companies like YouTube, Microsoft, Adobe, Google, MTV, ESPN, Electronic Arts, Blogger, Fast Company, and more—but he is also an author, a musician, a self-described “accidental-entrepreneur”, and a maker of handmade things. We are ecstatic to have him on board this year.
Dan writes books about design and web, records music in his garage, and occasionally hosts a podcast. His love of type turned into designing display fonts, letterpress printing, and learning new things. He’s a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and possibly the world’s worst fisherman.
There are only a 2 days left before the final May 1st submission deadline! If you’ve got an entry saved but not submitted, now is the time to submit!
Also, join us on May 7th for our STA100 celebration as we unveil this year’s winners at The Graham Foundation where you can ask Dan about the time he was handed a TechFellow award by the guy that plays Sheldon on Big Bang Theory.
