After months of back to back negotiations without a settlement, Chicago hotel workers are ready to take action.

The Chicago Labor Day Parade & Eddie Fest 2026 are proud to present the South Shore Drill Team!

SSDT teams have marched in presidential inaugurations and events across the nation!

These South Siders electrify the crowd every year!

Come out to watch The Labor Day Parade when we step off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, and stay for family fun, live music, food and beer, and much more at Eddie Fest in Steelworkers Park!

The following statement is attributable to Chicago Federation of Labor President, Bob Reiter:

“We’ll be working real hard to help get this race back on the schedule for 2028. NASCAR and the Chicago Street Race bring a lot of international eyeballs to Chicago and is a centerpiece with Lollapalooza and other major events cementing Chicago as a world class city! We’ll be getting back to that checkered flag soon!”

Running out of time to strike a deal with the city, NASCAR pulled the plug Tuesday on the return of the Chicago Street Race for next summer, but is still hoping to bring it back down the road.
