It's ! In 1973, the U.S. Congress designated August 26th as Women’s Equality Day to commemorate the 1920 date that women were granted the right to vote. Share this post by tagging someone who inspires you to continue working toward equality.

Welcome to the Society of Women Engineers Hawaiian Islands (SWE-HI) Meta page! As the Virtual Summer Art Show is approaching for STEM-related artworks, I would like to thank all those artists who are participating!

We are still recruiting artists, but only the artists we approved are allowed to be in this art show due to safety and reliability reasons.

Artists who are interested, please fill out the form using the following link.

Please no NSFW artworks.

Not safe for work (NSFW) is Internet slang or shorthand used to mark links to content, videos or website pages the viewer may not wish to be seen looking at in a public, formal or controlled environment. The marked content may contain nudity, po*******hy, political incorrectness, profanity, slurs, graphic violence or other potentially disturbing subject matter. Environments that may be problematic include workplaces, schools, and family settings.[1][2] NSFW has particular relevance for people trying to make personal use of the Internet at workplaces or schools which have policies prohibiting access to sexual and graphic subject matter.[3] Conversely, safe for work (SFW) is used for links that do not contain such material,[4] but where the title might otherwise lead people to think that content is NSFW.[5]

It’s been quite the journey to reach our current status of “Accepting Applications.”

And speaking for all SWE-HI volunteers and contributors... Worth every second!

The “Society of Women Engineers (SWE HI) Scholarship Fund In Honor Of Mae Nakatani Nishioka” is just one step in a collective of marching forward. One that we are proud to put in motion and inspired to continue looking for ways to do better.

We strive for equity for all and each day we do our best to live by our values.

We are humbled to have the best supporters - near, far, and wide!

The officers of SWE-HI were saddened to hear of the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As a woman excelling by being herself in a male-dominated field, she was an inspiration to many.

May her memory be a blessing. Rest in Aloha.
