We’re celebrating Garret, a UPLAN parent leader with OPAN, on completing Groundwork Ohio's Leadership Fellowship!

During the 10-month fellowship, Garret built his leadership and advocacy skills and focused his project on father engagement. His work looked at how fathers can be more involved in early childhood and education and have a voice in decisions that affect their children.

Join us in congratulating Garret on this milestone and his continued leadership for children and families.

We joined parents, childcare providers, organizers, and advocates from across the country at the first-ever National Childcare Convention.

We learned from parents, providers, and organizers about childcare and early education wins in communities from New Mexico to New York, as well as ways to better support immigrant children, families, and providers.

We left energized and are excited to bring what we learned and the relationships we built back to our members as we continue shaping our early care and education work together. Thank you, Community Change Action, for bringing us together.

Parents closest to the challenges are also leading the solutions.

We know what it means when child care is too expensive or hard to access, immigrant families live with fear and uncertainty, and decisions about our children are made without parents at the table. This is why we are leading campaigns shaped by families’ experiences, needs, and ideas.

When you take action with us, you stand alongside parent leaders across the country working for real change in early care and education, protections for immigrant families, and real parent engagement in education and other systems.
Check out our Action Center and sign up for action alerts. Together, we can make life better for families.

We often hear about campaign wins, but not what it takes to get there.

What does it look like to organize alongside parents, navigate challenges, and grow as a leader along the way?

Our newest bilingual blog shares reflections from parent leaders who experienced that journey through UPLAN’s Campaign Learning and Action by Parents (UCLAP).

🚨BREAKING: Birthright citizenship stands.
Today, the Supreme Court protected birthright citizenship, ensuring that children born in the United States remain recognized as U.S. citizens under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.

As parent leaders, we know this is about more than a court decision. It’s about protecting children, keeping families together, and affirming that every child born here belongs here.

Today brings relief for families. And we know the work to protect immigrant families and ensure every child can thrive continues.

Parent Power in Action at the Every Child Thrives Festival,

UPLAN parent leaders were proud to be part of this gathering centered on what every child needs to thrive.

In our session, we shared how families organize, build community, and take action. We know parents have the power and lived experience to lead change because we live this work every day in our families, communities, and organizations.

Thank you W.K. Kellogg Foundation for creating space for parent leadership, community wisdom, and these important conversations.

The Supreme Court's decision in Trump v. Barbara is coming.

When it does, it will determine whether the president can unilaterally rewrite the 14th Amendment - and whether birthright citizenship, the law of this land for 150+ years, survives.

As parent leaders, we know what is at stake: our children, our families, and the promise that every child born here belongs here.
