And That’s a Wrap on Summer Programming! ☀️

Last Friday, we officially wrapped up summer programming — and we couldn’t say goodbye to summer without celebrating our girls in a big way.

At our end-of-summer celebration, parents joined us as our girls recited the Girls Inc. Bill of Rights, reflected on their summer experiences, and performed a dance routine they learned through their lessons with the Joffrey Ballet.

We couldn’t be prouder of our summer girls and all the ways they showed up, tried new things, built new skills, and stepped outside of their comfort zones.

As they head back to school in the coming weeks, we know they’ll continue to show their classmates what it means to be strong, smart, and bold.

.

Thank you so much for pouring into our girls!

✨ Glow Cam: Meet Mariah ✨

This summer, our Bold Girls Society participants were challenged to create zines centered on advocacy topics they’re passionate about — using their voices to inspire others to think differently about social issues.

Mariah created her zine about body positivity, a topic she feels is nuanced and often overlooked. Through research, outlining, and creative ex*****on, she created a zine that was as thoughtful and unique as she is.

Experiences like these remind our girls that their voices are powerful — and that they can use their perspectives to inspire and empower others.

Thank you, Mariah, for using your voice to advocate for greater body positivity and bringing this important conversation to light.

Exploring New Horizons with EarthEcho International 🌍️ 🌊

Last week, our Bold Girls Society participants spent the day with EarthEcho International at the Chicago Yacht Club, discovering the many career paths dedicated to protecting our planet and its waterways.

From civil engineering and public policy to communications and supply chain management, our girls learned that building a more sustainable future takes people with a wide range of skills and passions.

The day concluded with a hands-on STEM activity, where participants tested the pH and turbidity of Lake Michigan's water — putting science into action while exploring how environmental professionals monitor and protect our natural resources.

Thank you to EarthEcho International and the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation
for inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders.

It’s a STEM Girl Summer!

Through our partnership with the Museum of Science and Industry, our girls continue to gain hands-on STEM experience during their summer break.

They recently put on their engineer hats and investigated how different building materials absorb and retain heat. By testing, observing, and comparing results, they explored how science and engineering work together to design safer, more sustainable communities.

Thank you, MSI, for leading such thoughtful and engaging activities for our girls and reminding them that STEM is about more than science — it's about creative thinking and solving real-world problems.

What do our campers love most about dancing with the Joffrey Ballet?

For Farrah, Jaylen, Clarke, and Carson, it's the chance to express their creativity, build confidence, learn new skills, and make new friends along the way.

At Girls Inc. of Chicago, experiences like these help girls discover their strengths, step outside their comfort zones, and grow strong, smart, and bold.

Thank you to the Joffrey Ballet for helping our girls glow both on and off the dance floor.

🍇🫐 Healthy habits start with hands-on learning 🍓🍇

This week our campers turned fresh fruit into colorful charcuterie boards while learning about nutrition, kitchen safety, and caring for their bodies.

Activities like these help girls build confidence in the kitchen, explore healthy food choices, and discover that taking care of themselves can be both fun and creative.

Here's a summer filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of fresh fruit.

🔥 🚒 Thank You, Chicago Fire Department🔥🚒

Our girls recently took part in Firefighter for a Day at the Chicago Fire Department and left knowing no career is out of their reach.

From learning CPR and Stop the Bleed techniques to trying on turnout gear, operating a fire hose, and completing hands-on rescue simulations, our girls spent the day experiencing what it takes to serve and protect a community.

Most importantly, they learned alongside women serving as firefighters, EMTs, and leaders within the Chicago Fire Department, demonstrating that courage, leadership, and service know no gender.

Thank you to the Chicago Fire Department for investing in our girls and creating an unforgettable day of learning and inspiration.
