Happy International Women and Girls in Science Day!

Women in STEM are fighting for both representation and equity in the business landscape each and every day.

According to a 2023 report from the National Women's Business Council, the lack of social networks for and investor attitudes toward businesswomen in STEM leads to higher costs and lower growth rates for their businesses compared to their male counterparts.

We know that unconscious biases and isolation from others are big obstacles in the way of women's advancement in the business world - and this is especially true for women in STEM.

Access to community, connection, education, and advocacy are especially crucial for our sisters in STEM fields to succeed!

According to Fortune, 76% of all the women CEOs in the Fortune 500 were hired internally.

In other words, these big businesses invested in their women employees, recognizing their diligent work and promoting them all the way to the top.

Businesswomen who are destined leaders must be given the chance to shine, and organizations must embrace their perspectives. Companies that invest in their women employees to grow and advance help create a more equitable business landscape for women leaders.

That's a staggering number, but it's not surprising. To this day, women advancing in their careers has been an uphill battle. Coupled with stagnating representation of women in business leadership positions, it's no wonder why so many women are feeling isolated and unsupported in their workplaces.

With many of the world's largest companies announcing shifting focus from their DEI initiatives, it's important that we keep doing what we can to support the advancement of women in business.

C200 has never wavered from this fight, with over 40 years of community and impact behind us. We are actively breaking down barriers of loneliness for women in business, especially for those at the highest levels of leadership, so that they can connect, share knowledge, and find support in a community of like-minded women.
