I was Invited to Be a Featured Author at Books & Bottles Day Party.

SIB’S Breakfast Club is celebrating 18 years, I am honored to join her as one of the Featured Authors at Books & Bottles—an afternoon celebrating Black excellence, Black authors, and Black-owned spirits.

For the past 18 years, SIB’S Breakfast Club has been committed to creating spaces that celebrate Black businesses, Black professionals, and our culture. This year, she intentionally chose BOOKS as the centerpiece of this milestone celebration because she believe there is nothing more intellectually stimulating than the knowledge, inspiration, and legacy that come from reading.

I will be showcasing my sophomore project “Unconsciously Desperate For Love” come join us and purchase your autographed copy personally signed by me. https://a.co/d/0gopL6Ze

After my divorce and there after, I spent a lot of time alone. In that silence, I learned a lot about myself. One of my biggest flaws was giving too much of myself to people who wouldn’t do the same for me. I was always the first to call, first to text, first to try to make a plan, and first to help and encourage others.

The problem was, I was so busy pouring into everybody else that I didn’t realize I was running on empty. And when life hit me hard, most of the people I had been there for were nowhere to be found.

These days, I move different. I do a lot of things alone, and truthfully, I enjoy it. I don’t chase people, force friendships, or beg for support anymore. If you want to be in my life, you’ll make the effort. If not, that’s fine too.

Being alone taught me something valuable: peace is expensive, and not everybody deserves access to it. I’d rather walk alone than keep carrying people who wouldn’t lift a finger to help me.

In my alone time my sophomore project “Unconsciously Desperate For Love” was born. Available for purchase on Amazon. Link in the comments below ⬇️

My heart ❤️ is sooo full as my second eldest graduated high school this evening. One of the hardest but yet greatest decisions I’ve had to make was allowing him to move miles away from me and live with dad in another state. He’s thriving, joyful & prospering in every aspect. As parents we don’t always do what we want to, but we do what we have to for the betterment of our children.

Dating after divorce like riding a roller coaster 🎢 When we are hungry for love and desperate for connection, we do not make good decisions. Or, we tend to make decisions from the mindset of lack instead of asking ourselves, “What is good for me?” or “What do I truly need now?” or Is this person truly good for me”? If this is you run 🏃🏽‍♀️ over to Amazon and purchase your copy of “Unconsciously Desperate For Love!” ⬇️
