Hellenic Foundation Executive Director Peter Valessares, along with PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Chairman Robert Buhler, took part in the Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church Koinonia Men’s Ministry’s 27th Annual Ascension Golf Outing last week.

The outing provided a wonderful opportunity to bring together the leaders of two organizations committed to supporting and strengthening our Greek American community. It was a great day of golf and fellowship.

Wonderful to see another Golden Circle outing! Seniors from Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church Chicago took a trip to the Taste of Greektown Festival.

Today after Divine Liturgy our stewards, parishioners, and friends boarded the bus to the Taste of Greektown Festival, Sunday, August 30, 2026 (Halsted Street from Adams to Van Buren)

Announcing the 2026 Connect Conference for Orthodox Young Adults

Friday, October 2 – Sunday, October 4, 2026 at St. Mary of the Lake Conference Center in Mundelein, Illinois (Chicagoland area)

The pan-Orthodox Connect Conference for young adults ages 21–29 is coming to the Chicagoland area this fall! Connect is an annual gathering for Orthodox young adults from across the country. The conference brings young adults together for worship, fellowship, and teaching as they seek to deepen their faith and discern their calling in the Church.

On July 21 and August 23 join us for our Back-to-School backpacking events as we pack 1,200 backpacks for underprivileged kids throughout Chicagoland. At the end of July, be part of AHEPA Supreme Convention in Philadelphia celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States.

This year’s OCAMPR Conference will again offer a clergy‑only workshop, “Wounded by Witness: Vicarious Trauma, Spiritual Injury, and Pastoral Identity.” We invite Clergy to join Fr. Andrew Kearns, DMin, ThM, BCC on Friday, September 17 at 11:15 AM as he guides participants through the unique vulnerabilities of Orthodox pastoral ministry, the spiritual impact of witnessing trauma, and the liminal spaces where identity is re‑formed through communion, honesty, and embodied pastoral care.
